Wow.

In related news, the iconic 'migrant crossing' signs are now gone.

There is nothing funny about near-misses with pedestrians, regardless where they occur.
That and the thinly-veiled political follow-up comments are the stuff that get this thread marked for locking/closing. Is that what you want?

It is "interesting" and per the thread title, it fits.

I wonder if the person walking across the road has/had dementia or something to do something so dangerous.

You know, I come here for the enjoyment, and comraderie of other cyclists, but do not expect to hear this PC stuff from somebody that expects the world to see it his or her way only.
I think you owe RubeRad an apology for your outburst. The sign was for humor, (get some).
Nobody wants to see a pedestrian hit on the freeway, but what was he doing out there in the first place?
It was posted to show how close, and amazingly lucky that person was.

Since you're a relative newcomer, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Threads like these have been locked in the past because of injected P&R content which sometimes snowballs into a s**tstorm, and then reopened at the pleading of regulars who ensure that it won't happen again. Believe me, I did the thread a favor. You're welcome.
If you wish to argue further, you'll have to pay for another half hour.
