No I meant in baseball. I don't think any of the fielders committed an error, they fielded the ball about as fast as they could and it was not reasonably possible to get the runner out, since he committed to the run instead of giving up.

If the pitcher had an oracle that told him the apparently foul ball would spin fair, he could have run for 1st base sooner, but I think he reasonably assumed it was foul and responded as soon as he saw it start to turn. Heads up play all around.

Sorry, my last comment was meant to be a joke. I can see there was nothing done wrong, just an unfortunate set of circumstances.

Pollen. Definitely pollen. Happens to the pines in mid-spring here in NC.

But why did the tree slap over so fast? Is there a truck somewhere speeding away with a chain around the trunk or something?

Or maybe the tree sneezed

Me neither. I know about the before/after first (and third) base rule, but I think if this had been a test, I would have gotten the answer wrong by saying once it's foul, it stays foul.

This reminds me of someone's tagline at this forum that says something like "Cycling is like baseball. It doesn't take much to make it interesting." Sorry I don't remember who that belongs to or I would mention the user name.

I figured there was a guy with a chainsaw somewhere in there.
