Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Intervals tomorrow, then 50-ish on Fri and done for the week if the weekend looks sail-able. If not, I'll go shorter on Fri and take a long ride this weekend. Could make it to 180, but that's a lot of miles for me.

I had to evict a squatter.

The wife was tending to the raised garden bed when she stopped in her tracks and asked if I'd put some grass clippings in there for some reason. "Uh, no. Guess I'd better check it out, eh?"

Yeah, something had burrowed under the overhanging rail and then brought in a couple good handfuls of grass for bedding. No babies, thankfully, but we'll have to keep an eye out so that they don't try again.

RWGPS iOS app connects to BT sensors and the new BT Varia. Not sure about the Android though.

Regarding riding, my Garmin says that I need rest and my legs say they agree.

My whole body agrees, and I have no sensors. What I've realized is I need to eat better. A 15 mile ride (granted it was hot and humid) wiped me out for the day. I felt like I'd ridden 100. Those planks and bridges and leg lifts are taking their toll as well.

Yesterday my friend and I did a mountain bike ride which included a descent of 6 tenths of a mile with mostly walking, if you could call it walking. It's a rutted out drop with loose rocks and exposed roots and is quite challenging to get down it even without a bike. I haven't done it in months and my friend had never done it. She was a trooper and handled it without complaint, which is better than some guys I have taken there.

Anyway after that there is a six mile granny gear climb before you can get out of there. So, yeah, my legs are sore today.

No need. I know the rider I pass on my commute. She does not use Strava.
