Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I just thought of something. I used to be “something” here. Now I’m nothing. I guess this place could survive without me. Whodathunkit???

With that said, I know how thankless of a job being an admin here can be. Thank you to all of the admins/mods that have kept this place going. You guys and gals are awesome!!!

You are still something/someone important even if not a mod. Plus, I imagine less headaches that way.

I was careful to cover the basics, then take the corners faster and faster, with her following, or me following her, in order to see what's up. She was happy, and it seems between the two different "clinics", something stuck. She finished second, and that's just cool. It helps to consist of legs and longs, but crits are a different ballgame.

My ex-GF, with whom I am still good friends, crashed yesterday and is in the hospital out in the 'burbs. Only spoke with her briefly. She doesn't remember what caused it. Thinks perhaps it was a dog. Just texted her to see if she'll be released today.

I hope so too.

Is this one Irish, or is that another ex? I have a hard time keeping track of your busy love life.

I still don't remember the cause of my last major crash, and likely never will. Almost two years have passed.

Well, crap. I was going to ask him if he had a pair of those orange and white striped pants the Vols bench-sitters were wearing. I would be too short to not be self-conscious wearing them but a taller person could get away with it especially in the summer.

The information on the left side of your posts says "Bikes: 1". Is this correct? And, if so, how is this possible? I rarely ride and I have a bike and several projects and I can't imagine LoP having fewer than three bikes. At one point, he was discussing a goal of owning a bike in each color of the rainbow but now he has several black ones so I don't know what happened. For the last few days, we have been admiring the way the yellow LeMond sets off the "Cosmic Purple" bedroom walls and vice versa.

Last Friday afternoon, I had arranged a home visit with a senior. My colleague and I were supposed to be there at 1pm so I parked a few blocks away from the apartment and was hurrying to get there on time and I tripped on a lumpy place in the street. The next thing I knew I was on the ground with a whole in the left knee of my pants and in my own left knee, bleeding and using colorful language. I got up and finished crossing the street, sat on a big rock, and called my colleague who met me, halfway to the client's apartment, and told me the client had left a note on the door saying she had to go sign a new lease and would be back around 2 or 2:30. ****! I came home and changed my pants and got a little bit cleaned up and we went back downtown and finally saw the client. My knee is still a bit stiff and sore, but, obviously, I'm going to be okay. We put Betadine and Neosporin and a bandage on the scrape Friday night and yesterday we walked around a little and looked at the Grand Falls. (Very cool and made me wish I had a latte.) But it's still such a shock to have fallen like that. I've been walking a lot of years so when did I have to start paying attention? And how was I lucky enough not to fracture one of my wrists?

I've started throwing a lightweight rubber ball the last couple days to see what the repaired shoulder can do. Time to start getting ready for the softball season. Feels good, no pain but obviously the throwing strength needs work. Tomorrow I'll try throwing actual softballs and measure the progress.

Lyme.
I plan to try to increase my cycling this season, but a fast twitch short burst sport like softball is more doable with lyme than an endurance activity like cycling. When it takes you 4 or 5 days to recover from a single bike ride then whatever enjoyment you had goes right out the window.

it's very bright and has disc brakes. Beyond that, I know nothing. But you already knew that. Thanks for stopping by. I am sure you came for the quality but I implore you to stay for the stupidity. There is plenty of stupidity. But you already knew that.
