Value of a 1985 Trek 720
This are the pictures of the bike
Replacements:
Rear derailleur is a Shimano 600
Right bar shifter is a Shimano
The rear brake caliper is a replacement too
Seat is not a Brooks.
The paint is great, the front rack is available too, has the Maillard tool for the free wheel.

local sale or ebay? $700 ish on the evil bay, considerably less typically on CL. Maybe $400 in my fair city of Des Moines but I've seen them go for a lot less. Likely more in Cleveland. I think fixed up and ready to ride, $500 is a fair asking price in a large city like Cleveland.
The bike does not present well with that saddle and the lack of brake hoods. Plus the front rack is missing. If asking big money, you should fix it up to present better.

That's just weird with that rear brake. It needs cantilevers. The rear derailleur is a pretty nice replacement for the huret duopar. Frankly I'd sell the huret front derailleur and rear brake apart from the bike.
If you want to get top dollar, you'll have to source some parts (a decent saddle, hoods are easy to find, and a rear cantilever). Otherwise, as it sits, maybe $350-$400.

The front rack is missing on the bike, but is available, never mounted.
I have Suntour and Shimano bar shifters, which one?
The problem is the rear brake, where I can get one?

suntour is likely the better choice for the bar ends. Hood replacements are easy to find. Dia compe cane creek in brown will look fine on that bike.
The rear cantilever can be a pain. That is a narrow spacing and a new cantilever is unlikely to work. You can look at your local bike coop; you might get lucky.
Or put up a WTB in the C&V forum. One of the hoarders, I mean collectors, on this site will have something. Heck I might have a set of the old shimano XTs (the br-mc 70s) that would work well on this bike. I think I might even have a huret duopar rear derailleur. That shimano 600 long cage is a nice derailleur though.
Edit: that looks like a shimano canti upfront; you can find a rear on ebay for $20-$30 shipped.

Thanks, I will use the Suntour, even it is weird with Suntour, Shimano and Huret.
What Shimano 600 front works with the triple?

suntour/huret was likely stock. you could just go all shimano. I'd just find an old deore FD of a mtb; those things are a dime a dozen and they work great. That huret can be sold apart from the bike.

so,for the Shimano 600 EX on the bike, I need a front FD-6207.
And I will use the Shimano bar shifters.
In my parts, I have two 600 Arabesque and a Uniglide.
I think the Arabesque are for the double.
What about the Uniglide?

DT cable guides are not original either.
I just sold one on Ebay.
Right after, another one sold for $895. I sure hope the buyer of that one realizes the cable stop on the chain stay for the RD is broken off the frame.
Top dollar goes to the original bikes. Just buy the correct RD and rear canti's. They're widely available on Ebay. You're not far from stock, so it should be easy to bring it back. Having all the racks, cages, and pannier mounts is a huge plus.

a used huret duopar can easily run north of $50 on the evil bay. I like them but the shimano is probably a better derailleur. I don't know if that matters much for a CL sale. It does matter if looking for top dollar from eBay.

$50 + a little is cheap for a titanium Duo-Par, especially when trying to bring a nice 720 back.

So, what do you think I can get on the bike if I put the Suntour bar shifter, the correct cable guide, the front rack and a nice Brooks B 17?
On eBay?
On eBay?

You're going to take a hit by not having the correct RD. It's a good unit, and unique. That said, you should clear $500 after fees with a bike missing a significant component like the RD.

Personally, the things you're going to take a hit for:
the rear brake- that's just effed up,
no hoods,
all the mismatched housing,
and the saddle.
I don't think the Duopar makes a whole lot of difference- that 600 is a better unit. This bike also has the Helicomatic- yay for stock, not so yay for perceived durability. I also don't think the non-original plastic cable stops are going to make a difference- most people would want those changed out anyway.
You've also got 2 blue bottle cages- so that's a plus- if people are into those blue bottle cages.
If you REALLY want a Duopar, let me know.

Helicomatic Nice frame. I have seen that back caliper set up before. Sheldon Brown may have a pic of that on his site.

Looks like a "Hinault" Stronglight roller-bearing headset. Dunno if that's original spec but it's a personal favorite.
Very lightweight yet very durable. Great study in bike component engineering.
Helicomatic? Have those reviled units finally become rare enough (via trash cans everywhere) to be collectible?
Might not want to publicize it has Helicomatic in your sale ad, just sayin'...
Even if they became rare and collectible I'd spurn them...

There can be valid engineering reasons to mount a rear caliper brake on the inside of the seatstays.
The fact that this example was one forced by the presence of brake bosses does not negate those reasons.
More than one American frame builder saw those reasons and designed frames specifically to mount brakes this way.
Laugh all you want. They work well and are now (in at least two instances) quite valuable IF you can find one.

The lady who had the bike said that the rear brake was replaced because of the bags she put on the back rack
I didn't try to put some bags and see what happens.

Just a thought...
The lady who sold me the bike said it is a 1985 production.
On eBay just sold two from 1985, 56 cm frame.
But looking at the serial number from my bike, the frame was made in 6/29/84.
So the bike is from 1984 or it is possible that the factory had a lot of frames from 84 which were built in 85?
By the way in 1985 was built only 1 (one) frame.

All the '84/'85 720 frames were manufactured in '84. Leftover production from '84 were decaled as '85's and sold as '85's, from the info I've found.
