Atala, Univega and Fuji Monterey?
Anyone have an idea of the value of these? I found these three and I'm now in talks with the owners. Atala is going for 70, Fuji 40, and Univega 20. They're all a go on pickup. Only real problem with them is flats, and some minor rusting. I can haggle the prices down if need be. Pics attached.

Still learning
Buying to ride or buying to flip?
The Atala is for 5'9"+
The other 2 are for <5'6". Univega is a MTB.

Buying to ride, Something sturdy. I'm 5'11 and Atala owner said he's 6' and it fits him well so I'm leaning towards the Atala I like the look too. That pic is the only one I have though.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

Since the current owner has the seat post buried in the frame, I hope you have longer legs than his. You'll want to make sure he has not damaged the seat lug (by tightening it on the possibly tapered upper part of the seat post).

I'm a reflector guy so the Atala gets my vote. Bike looks like it will clean up easily enough.

I would say the Atala is the best choice for the based on size. Ii looks to be in pretty good shape with upgraded alloy wheels and decent tires if everything works good worth about $125-175 depending on market.

I'd grab the Fuji for $40. Just for the frame. Looks like a 17" or 18" frame. Good for the girls. Would convert to a nice city bike.

Atala looks to be a reasonable size for someone 5' 11", perhaps a shade large depending on your proportions. It is wearing an OFMEGA Forgiato cotterless chianset w/guard. Dentition looks to be 40-52. Pedals are Union 40U which cannot be disassembled for service. Hubset is Gnutti five-piece. The rear on these has a chronic problem of the drive side flange working loose. You would want to check this.

The Atala may be too big. I'm 5'10" and it's at least two sizes too big for me. Take it for a test ride to see if it'll work for you.
The other two are definitely too small for you.
...and bikes are kinda like shoes in that it doesn't matter how cheap they are if they're the wrong size. It's not a bargain if it doesn't fit.

just bought
I think it's a 1983 Fuji Monterey. I don't know much about 10 speed. Still trying to figure out if I should restore or turn onto a single gear. or even the value

All, three are good prices but the Atala is probably too large and the Fuji and Univega are definitely too small.

Agreed that the Atala is likely too large. That looks to be a 60 cm or larger frame. What about that $10 Trek you had your eye on? That looked to be around the right size.

whatever you do take tools to be sure the stem and seat post aren't seized. I bought a 25" Atala once thinking/hoping/praying I could make it work but alas when you ride 23" frames a 25" frame is just too big even it is Italian and lovely.
BTW I am also 5' 11" (short legs long torso) I am guessing that Atala is also too big for you also but definitely test ride it. I can ride a 25" frame but they don't fit

Agree with those above - the Atala is probably the only one that might fit you, and it might be a bit big. The others are really small. If you're not sure what you're getting into, you might look for a slightly newer classic road bike, something from the 1980s - it'll still be a project, but it'll be easier to work on and find replacement parts. Look at photos of bikes that are known to be 56-58cm seat tubes, and learn what the head tube looks like on those bikes. That's how you can tell at a glance if the bike is in the ball part of fitting you (note how the Fuji has virtually no head tube?). Go do some test rides. Also take some allen keys and a pump to the test rides, as mentioned above.
