A Restored Raleigh Bike
The Raleigh Grand Prix was restored, but I am not sure how many parts are original to the frame. I tried to make some beginner observations. Would love to hear the experts here on details I'd miss. Thanks!
Test ride: Best out of all the vintage bikes I've tried in the past 2 weeks, probably because it was just tuned up.
BRAKE: Weinmann type 730
PAINT: below the head badge seems a bit off, is that normal? Also, in the same photo, a patch of rust on the downtube can be seen. There are minor rusts throughout the frame here and there as well. Rust seems to be a big no to most people, however to what extend it is acceptable?
FORK: I couldn't find a similar Raleigh bike with the sticker on the fork
GEAR: Shimano, not sure what the LH Adjust is, perhaps the cable?
DERAILLEUR: Sakae Custom A
WHEEL: Aluminium

Hello JoeMcD,
The bicycle's head emblem and its New York City bike shop transfer tell us it is a Raleigh of America nominal product. They were done for the Huffman Corporation in Japan. The only apparent euro content is the Weinmann 605 brakeset. Possible these were fitted by the restorer.
The Grand Prix model has always come with quick release wheels front and back. Bicycle appears to be fitted with a large flange quick release hub in the front and a small flange solid axle hub in the rear. Would expect that at minimun the rear wheel is a replacement.

OP, Seems a bit on the high side to me...the tubing and components are mid to lower level.
In Los Angeles, I would say 125-175....and want to be on the lower side.

Tange 5 is near the bottom. I could have had something similar to this. Maybe I still can.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

The notation in the text "Derailleur - Custom A" refers to the crankset, not the derailleurs.
I'm unfamiliar with newer Shimano groups, but these look to be of similar position in the price-point hierarchy.
If I REALLY needed a bike badly I'd pay $125 USD as presented, no more and preferably less.

Still learning
If you're in Toronto, $225 CA is not bad, but the bike is not clean, the paint has a lot of scratches, and the consumables aren't new, rather original on a 1984-1985 bike.
I would judge FMV as $150 as presented.
