You- 'Someone tell me what model Trek do I have. It has an incredibly common drivetrain and steerer size. Oh, and a serial number exists, but I won't say what it is.'
Everyone- 'Details are needed because what you provided doesn't narrow down the possibilities at all.'
You- 'A common phrase is on the bike.'
You- 'Looks like nobody here knows anything.'

Curiosity killed the cat but satisfaction brought him back.
Everyone forgets that part of the rhyme.
If possible look for old Merlin catalogues or ask around on the Ti bike threads. If you know what model your bike is there are always guru's who know what features came out whe (head tube size, forgings, seat stay style etc) that can really narrow it down.

One more post and we can see pics.
Fwiw, my mid 90’s Extralight has a much shorter serial number ( I can’t look at it now, so I can’t say what it is exactly) But I’m guessing yours is substantially newer, and likely after the time frame of the original Merlin Metalworks, but that’s just a guess.
With the 1and an eighth head tube, that moves it at least into the 21st century. If the 11 speed group is original, that pushes it into the teens. So my guess is the bike was actually made by Form cycles in Arizona during the period Competitive Cycles owned the Merlin name.

That’s close to what we were guessing. So the 11 speed group set was an upgrade done later. I put another saddle and black bar tape on it. The white wasn’t working. Also took off the 120mm stem(ugh) and put a 90 on it. I usually ride 54cm frames, so I needed to shorten this on up a bit.

The headtube shape is a bit different though ,, lacking the typical rounder hourglass shape that was used more often. Curious

I concur with early 2000's but because of the fork. The Ouzo Pro on my 2000 Litespeed had an identical fork, but another Ouzo Pro acquired a few years later had a different decal set, with a large vertical "REYNOLDS" down each fork leg.

Just added new bartape, changed the saddle, and took off the 120 mm stem(ugh) and put on a 90mm. It’s actually rideable for me now. Might just keep it.
