That is Shapeways fault, the links are correct. What happens is that since there are so few "Pinarello" items on Shapeways, they mark the product as PRIVATE until their men in blue suits can verify there are no copyright issues. The sucky part of this is that every small change, to the model or even a single character in the description triggers the same PRIVATE / Copyright check / PUBLIC cycle. They do this until there are some unknown random number of items they have checked.

@TrojanHorse I have no clue if the F8, F10 & F12 use the same seat post, I just know I was sent a cut off from the F12. Let me know what you find out.

Was given permission to post these images, apparently the mount went for a ride through the Ardennes on Sunday and "stayed perfectly put". As I expected.

I wanted to mount a RTL 510 as close to the saddle as possible. The Fizik ICS mount is a ICS to CatEye and the Garmin portion is the stock RTL 510 Mount. The ICS to Garmin Varia adapter was a 3D printed part with accommodation to my 2 degree saddle down tilt.

Awesome to see so many other people 3D printing accessories for their bikes. I recently 3D printed an adapter to mount my 360 camera (which uses a GoPro style mount) to my Garmin mount that attaches to my handle bars. It turned out great, and the 360 videos while riding are pretty fun! Unfortunately, I can't post any pictures since I'm a newb on this forum. I guess you have to have 10 posts before you can upload images. :/

I finally got 10 posts. Yay!

So here are the pictures of the GoPro -> Garmin Mount adapter I 3d printed so that I could mount my 360 camera to my bike.

First up, this is the adapter I 3D printed:



Next you can see how the housing for my 360 Camera mounts to the GoPro side and then this attaches to the Garmin out front adapter I got for my bike on eBay:



Here is everything assembled and on my bike:



And if you haven't seen pics from a 360 camera before, it can do goofy "tiny planet" stuff like this It can also take pictures and video where you can look around in 360 degrees on your computer. It's pretty cool!

I got confirmation from several sources that the Dogma F8 F10 and F12 use the exact same seat post. I have edited the title of the item on Shapeways to indicate that it fits them all. Unfortunately, since I edited the text of the listing, SHapeways decided (again) that it needs to review the item to see if it doesn't violate any copyrights. It will likely be unavailable until tomorrow.

Is there any possibility of buying just the Canyon S27 .stl file for this mount? I have an Ender 3 pro and I would love to print this mount for my Canyon Aeroad tu put my Varia on

Not from me, I do not sell STL files. And on another note, most consumer based 3D printers cannot match the quality of the commercial printers made by companies such as Stratasys, HewlettPackard, EOS, etc.

how would you trace out something like the crossover beam from a suspension fork? I'm thinking about designing a light mount. There have been mounts available, but only for specific forks

Revised Fizik saddle Varia mount to use the "Garmin Varia Quarter-turn to Friction Flange Mount Adapter". Removed GoPro provision and a little sanding. It now locks the light in place.

i.materialise is sometimes cheaper, depending on the size of your part, due to the difference in the way they calculate costs from the way shapeways does it. However, I think they only have locations in Belgium and Poland. My recent print with i.materialise was 60% of the cost of shapeways by packing 2 copies on top of each other and connecting them with a 3mm diameter loop. If I only had 1 piece in the model, i.materialise was still 90% of the cost of shapeways. You need to maintain a 0.6mm gap between parts. I think one of the other companies says 0.5mm gap. This is for SLS nylon.

tomtomtom123 You can also try Sculpteo, they print in both France and the US, I believe, and can be cheaper than Shapeways. They also have some of the HP MuliJetFusion printers which generally produce better looking and stronger parts than the Stratasys and EOS machines.

In my early experience, the HP printers have strange printing artifacts, but maybe it was due to incorrect settings from the early production runs by materialise. The concave edges had material filled into them, and there was some warping. The price for HP prints is also higher. So I prefer to stick to the older EOS machines.

That hasn't been my experience, but you and I are a very small sample size.

One thing I do like about the HP over the EOS is that layer height is measurably smaller on the HP and that leads to better diagonal surfaces. Also as a result of the liquid binder the HP prints cannot suffer from voids in the plastic. Other than that, the EOS has colors going for it (HP is only gray and black) as well as cheaper pricing. I use both, but anything high dollar added to my bike, like a Varia for example, gets HP MJF prints because of the extra strength. I do think that the EOS prints are strong enough but I don't want to take any chances.

I found out something new yesterday, it appears that the Karoo Hammerhead bicycle computer is what I would call 99% Garmin Mount compatible. I say only 99% because they have oriented their mount the way Garmin did the old bike mount kit for their Forerunner watches, it is offset 90° from the Edge mount. But it is 100% compatible with my Garmin mounts since I redesigned my mounts from the very beginning to be Forerunner & Edge & Varia compatible. With an Eighth-turn mount you can mount in either portrait or landscape orientations using the exact same mount without modification.

So now I can claim Karoo compatibility, when using any of my Garmin mounts.

Note that I don't actually have a Karoo, just the mount insert (Which surprisingly can be ordered separately) and their pictures show a 90° offset in orientation of their mount, it might be able to mount without the offset, I simply have no way of knowing.

Hello everyone, I'm waiting for my new Madone to come, and I've started looking for Varia mount for it, and found this interesting thread.
I've seen discussion about Madone 9.9 model, and not sure if the seatmast is the same in SL 7, so would like to ask if someone of you know if the difference exists?
Or already have some experience in trying to fit Varia to SL 7?
I would appreciate any kind of help.

Hello all. I just found this thread. I'm taking a different approach. I am 3D printing the parts needed to convert a Harbor Freight Mini Mill to CNC. I own an FDM printer but CNC'd parts are sometimes better. It will be quite a while 'till I am able to turn out small CNC parts

I use Fusion 360. Fusion will create both an SL file for printing and it can also write g-code for CNC machine from the same 3D modeled part. SO you can print a prototype to test it and then make it in metal.

As far as I know the only Madone models that are physically different are the SL vs. SLR and how they mount the rear reflector. For my adapters, I use the actual Trek reflector mount and replace the movable arm with a Varia mount.

I am waiting in anticipation to see the stuff you can come up with on your converted CNC. At some point I would love to do that same conversion.

Just a note for anyone interested, 3D Printing is an additive technology and CNC is a subtractive technology. In other words, 3D printed objects are built up from nothing and can have sections that cannot be made with CNC machines. CNC uses an solid piece of material (usually aluminum, but could also be plastics), then parts are cut away until you get the final results you want. They are both equally suited for some items and they are drastically different in their approach.
