NYC to Boston

hello all,
i'm hoping to plan a trip possibly next spring, and i was wondering what the best route was. i've read on different posts that their trips were pretty direct, but i was wondering if it was possible to ride along the coast of connecticut and rhode island. from the map it seems to get a bit iffy in the middle of rhode island. i was hoping to ride along the coastline all the way to boston and set up camp on beaches along the way and ride off at dawn again. would this be a feasible trip? Thanks in advance for all the input.

Well sure it's a feasible trip. There aren't many unfeasible trips, depending on your motivation and experience?? The Google Maps bicycle route will get you there quite nicely, hugs the coast much of the way, and shows a nearby trail or two if you want. Maybe somebody who knows the route well will chime in.

Welcome to BF, and good luck.

Campgrounds in R.I along you route Burlingame in Charleston & Fishermans Memorial near Point Judith. These are both state parks. In Westerly there is Misquaimicut sp for swimming and food, Burlingame is just downthe road. Follow Rt 1 & 1A in R.I towards Prividence. To cross over the Narra ganset, you'll need to take a bus as you cant ride over the bridge. The MT. Hope bridge to Bristol is ridable but high & scarey. East Bay Bike path into East Providence

oh, wow. thank you guys so much! my experience is pretty limited, i've only traveled across the boroughs and i'm itching to travel across state lines. i have a single speed/ fixed flip flop hub, would it be incredibly stupid to do a long distance trip on a fixed? and i've been tinkering with google maps, would it be advisable that i take route 1 the entire way through from the bronx until after the boston-providence turnpike (would i even be able to bike on it?) i turn on washington st. the rest of the way to boston? and point judith seems like a pretty cool, nook, pit-stop. thanks for the heads up!
