Mid-season entry?
Hi all, I'm hoping to try cyclocross racing for the first time this fall, but I've checked the schedule, and can't get to any races till mid-late season. Is this a problem? (Other than other riders having the advantage of already being in the groove).
Can I enter a single race in a series (Ohio Valley Cyclocross), having missed the first few races?

I don't know about Ohio Valley, but I've never heard of a series where you had to do them all. I believe that many will offer discounts for signing up for the whole series (our local series lets you sign up for race credits; you're not committed to any particular race). But you can always sign up on the day.

OVCX will use results for your call up, so don't expect a good starting position if you come mid season. Where are you located? For me no race is more than a couple hours away.

It turns out that Indycross fits my schedule better...I'll be able to make the first race, and maybe a few more...(5 race series in the greater Indianapolis area). So I don't think I'll be doing ovcx this year.

That's what I was going to suggest. Based on location you'll probably overlap multiple series and one probably fits better than the other. For me I'm two hours to Indianapolis and about an hour to Cincinnati and Columbus. Among cap city (Columbus), OVCX, and indycross, I have plenty of races to pick from.
