Mike Melton Reynolds 531 Touring bike - pick up in Cincinnati
SOLD
Against the good advice of folks in this forum, I'm trying to sell this bike whole with local pick up in Cincinnati. A good candidate for a strip and flip. Asking $350.
If there are no takers after a while, I'll consider shipping, but I'd rather avoid the hassle, and I'm much more comfortable selling to someone who has seen the bike in person so there aren't any surprises.
Frame and fork are Reynolds 531, made by Dayton-based builder Mike Melton.
Seat tube is 58 cm c-c
Top tube 58 cm
chainstays 44.5 cm
Crank: Ofmego CX triple
Derailleurs: Shimano deerhead Deore predecessor
Shifters: Suntour bar-end
Wheels: Avocet 36-spoke (sticker on rear says "Special Champion")
Brakes: Universal side-pull caliper
All proceeds go to benefit the nonprofit MOBO bicycle co-op in Cincinnati, OH.

That is a heck of a good price on that bike. I'd consider buying it if it were local to me and I own a Mike Melton bike. It is one of the nicest riding bikes I have ever owned.
This is a buy me now price.

Yes, I kept the price low hoping to entice someone to make the trip. And because the general opinion seemed to be that a buyer wouldn't want the components as they are. At this price, you can make a profit on the components to help pay for whatever you put on it instead.

Dang I’m down in Lexington and I would be up there already if it was a 63. Great deal. Good luck!

Bump for a great builder RIP. Mike made our team bikes one year, they were light, robust and handled well. Were this one close to my size, I'd drive down and get it.

You got a good picture, but forgot to mention the Mathauser brake pads - and they’re definitely worth mentioning.
