Is This Classic/vintage? ~My latest acquisition
Fuji Tahoe of unknown age. 18 speed Cro-moly tubing bought for $30 having sat for years, tires in great shape with some rust here and there. Just looking for an option from my road bike as I get back into biking.

Appears in great condition, remove the rust, touch up the paint, and if the tires are original, DO NOT ride on them!!!!

Why wouldn't it be? It's old enough; late '80s at the latest. Several steps above a dept. store bike. Steel "is real". Definitely not like anything produced today. Checks enough check-boxes IMO.

Any old bike parked next to a bunch of really cool vintage stereo gear is a classic as far as I'm concerned.
Overhaul it, get rid of that fugly stem, buy some new tires, and ride the heck out of it.
One thing I've found with old MTBs is that if they haven't been ridden off road (and most of them have never seen single track), the parts tend to be in decent shape. They're tough bikes that make excellent commuters, tourers, and gravel grinders. Plus they're fun to ride.
I love old MTBs so yeah it's a classic even without the stereo gear in the background.

Plus one on what @bikemig said, and if it has thumb shifters all the better with some smooth tires that could be a very plush ride for commuting, errands etc the weird stem is probably why it didn't get ridden, someone tried to make a too small frame work and what do you know they never rode it which is why its all about fit. Have fun getting back on the road,or trail

It should be a nice rider. I liked the one I pulled out of GW for $10. Great tubing, paint job and lugged. Components were middle level but worked great.
Gave it to whatwolf when I went GT crazy.

I really like the substantial feel of this bike. I am a bigger guy and its just more reassuring to me. I could see this becoming my go-to bike.

+1; we got through last winter almost entirely without starting the truck, thanks to a few workhorses like this.
Just got a look at that rack install -- ! How can someone look right past a nicely brazed on set of rack mounts and do..... that?

That saddle nose sticking up in ones privates would limit the mileage by even the toughest riders! A stem that works for you, tires for whatever you intend to ride on and you have a cool vintage/classic fun ride!

I really like the color on that Fuji. Great find! Now you just have to get a vintage walkman so you can listen to your cassettes on the go.
