I've not had opportunities for bike-centric travel either, but I've lived in a few places and picked up bikeshare bikes when out of town for work or taken bikes when visiting family.
Places I've ridden near where I lived:
- Southern California; mostly Orange County, excursions to LA and Riverside counties
- Denver, Colorado/Boulder, CO and areas in between the two
- Mobile, Alabama
- La Crosse, WI area, including west-central WI, southeast Minnesota, and northeast Iowa
Other places:
Kalamazoo, MI
Lincoln, NE
Seattle, WA
Orcas Island, WA
Vancouver, BC
London, UK
With any luck, I'll add to this list soon, either through work travel or moving someplace new!

I've got a goal of riding in all the provinces in Canada, all the states in the US, all the states in Australia, and as many other countries as possible. It's not a goal that I'm going to accomplish in the next year or two ... it is something I'm working on throughout my life.
However, this year, I was able to add a whole bunch more US states to my list ... I'm nearly at the half-way mark!!
What about you?? Where have you ridden?? Any plans for some winter rides??
Me:
-- Canada: BC, Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Ontario
-- Australia: NSW, Queensland, Victoria, ACT, Tasmania, South Australia, Western Australia
-- US: Alabama, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Hamshire, New Mexico, New York, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Texas, Utah, Vermont, Washington, West Virginia, and Wyoming (33 states)
-- UK: England, Wales, Scotland
-- France
-- Belgium
-- Taiwan
-- Japan
-- The Netherlands
-- Germany
-- Luxembourg
-- Switzerland
In 2012, so far, I've added Taiwan, Japan, Scotland, The Netherlands, Luxembourg and Switzerland to the list. Also Idaho, Oklahoma, Texas, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, New Mexico, Arizona, Utah. I've also added Western Australia.

Much of SoCal, from LA to south of San Diego.
Baja, both coasts. Very different coasts for such a narrow peninsula.
Washington, DC and Maryland
Texas
That's about it.

Pennsylvania (many fine rail-trails throughout the state) & mtn.bike trails primarily around the Shrewsbury and York areas. MD.-NCR rail trail was close to our home there, Patapsco State Park has good mtn.bike trails. Washington DC, VA, W.VA., IN., OH. and KY, my current residence. I never owned a road bike before moving to KY. PA, with the many rail-trails and the mtn.bike trails I rode there was my favorite state of the ones in which I've ridden.

Compared to a lot of you folks, I've hardly cycled at all. All of my riding has taken place within a 75-mile radius of Charleston, W.Va., except for one brief mountain bike ride near Crested Butte, Colorado, during which I found myself gasping for breath because of the altitude.

If you haven't been to Virginia yet
There is a rolling newly paved bike road from Richmond to Jamestown. Round trip, it was my first century :)

Where have you ridden??
California, Nevada, Arizona, (Utah and New Mexico at Four Corners), Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Virginia, D.C.
Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Rhode Island; Quebec; Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island; Maryland and Delaware.
Also by myself a couple of days on visits to North Carolina, South Carolina, Florida, and Bermuda.

… In Ann Arbor MI in the 70’s I really realized the utility of bicycles for commuting, and began touring on a five-speed Schwinn Suburban, but soon bought a Mercier as did my girlfriend, later my wife.
We [my then-girlfriend-now-wife and I] toured in Michigan and Ontario.
In 1977 we [my now-wife and I] moved to Boston on our bikes, as a bicycling honeymoon from Los Angeles to Washington, DC and then took the train up to Boston…

Yes! Besides my usual haunts, we did a bike tour in France (Loire Valley). We also rented bikes in San Diego, CA while we were there for my sister's wedding.
Usual spots:
Massachusetts (home state)
Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont (neighboring states)

The highlight of Idaho was bagging the Route of the Hiawatha Trail with its trestles and tunnels.

I have ridden the fine line between mayhem and madness.
Climbed the fractured trail up out of the canyon that is the schism in the devil's mind.
Where the four horsemen of the apocalypse tried to lead me astray.
And today I go for ice cream.😉

Block Island, and, Martha's Vineyard. Good places for riding in the summer. Block island is all hills, and very nice on road cycling. Martha's Vineyard is flat and has many off road bike paths. I visit both each year with a few other riders. The Bridge in the "Jaws" movie is something we ride over. Lots of people swimming and jumping off the bridge.

I haven;t ridden anywhere outside of a 200km radius of Toronto, Ontario, Canada. However, I'm heading to Ponta Delgada, Sao Miguel Island (Portugal) next July for 2 weeks and plan on renting a bicycle for a few days.
