Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Happy birthday. I have fond memories of being 55. Not much before that, however.

HTFU. I had a below-freezing (just) ride today. I really felt like skipping, but I def needed a ride. In the end, I was glad that I did.

Fast Eddie's is somewhat busy for fish fry tonight but I expected it to be busier since the nearest Catholic church canceled their fish fry.

Since the cold weather is pretty much over, I am trying to decide if it’s time to cancel Zwift. The problem is I have gotten into the habit of doing a really fun group ride on Thursdays before work, which I might want to continue indefinitely. But I don’t think it’s worth paying the subscription for once/week ride. Hmmm...

I already canceled my Sufferfest renewal. I've got two more weeks left on the subscription and I'd figured that I'd be in VA for week and a half after that, so I'd be good 'til warmish weather. Of course, it's MN, so that means that I could very well get a blizzard or two in April (and occasionally early May), but I'll remain optimistic.

I surprised myself by remembering that it was a Friday in Lent and I briefly considered going to McDs for a post-ride Filet-o-fish (something that I haven't had in a good 30 years) since Culver's was too far. Decided against it, though.

Damn it. The wife just got a call from Minneapolis Schools, the second one today, but I missed it (she's upstairs getting the kids ready for bed) and I'll have to wait my turn on the robocall. I suspect that the we're shut down, too. Spring Break starts in two weeks, so I'm guessing we're done 'til April 6th.
