Looking to upgrade wheels, but I need 1 red rim and 1 blue rim

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Right now there are Chris King campy hubs going cheap, I nearly picked up a set for 400 front and rear but they couldn't be made thru-axle which is a requirement for me. You could get red and blue that way. Harder will be the spokes, Soma offers colored spokes but they're only available in straight gauge and you can pick them up here https://www.bmxguru.com/collections/...tainless-steel for a decent price cut to length. I've ordered colored spokes from him several times. My son's road bike has red spokes and nipples and he loves it.
Best spoke nipples IMHO if you want colored are wheel fanatyk, don't know of colored nipples that are brass, just aluminum and these don't strip out though you'll have to buy another spoke wrench. I just finished a set of wheels with them today; blue hubs and green nipples with black spokes and rims. Although what you're doing isn't to my taste I can see how it will be cool to look at, as I pass you.

I did check with my local community build place and the only time i can get there they have reserved for minor repairs. i guess right now wheel building is out.
Bike price has nothing to do with speed.

No certainty I'll be passing, I might spend the cash but that's cause I like how smooth and fast they roll, the color options, the fact they're as fast 20 years later as they were when new and kind of like you, decking out the bike to be unique in my own fashion.

i dont see the need to get out the measuring sticks.... oh yeah, yall l are road bikers, lol.. my bad. lol roadies...

we are all in it together my friend. i just chose not to ride on roads with no shoulder
Actually only have 2 sets on my bikes, the other is my MTB which at this point I spend more time on, and if it weren't for the kids I wouldn't mind smokin one while I roll but they're not even old enough to discover the stuff on their own. I'm not into a lot, but I really like my bikes and I just like having the most me bike possible and part of that is cool hubs. Partly I'm a roadie and mostly a bike geek.

The red and blue theme idea would work better if the frame was painted.
I know you like the brushed Ti finish but I just don't think it suits what you want to do.

Snark is standard on the 41, but its mostly good natured - I just wanna say good on you for not taking the bait and focusing more on enjoying your ride rather than the gadgetry.

Ride safe and hope your blinged out bike brings you a lot of joy.
