26" x 2.125" tires on 26" x 1.5" rims?
Tires on my old beach cruiser are dry-rotted, so was going to purchase some new ones. The tires say 26" x 2.125" and the rim says 26" x 1.5" - is buying another set of 2.125" width tires for a 1.5" rim recommended? The tires came with the bike when I first bought it, so this is first time purchasing new tires and wanted to make sure I get the correct size. Use-case is for riding short distances (5-10 min) on flat ground (mostly pavement) to get to the beach.

My two Schwinn cruisers came with 1" wide rims (outside measurement) and 26" x 2.125" tires. When I put new tires on both of them, I put on the same size tires. They work great.
I'd do the same with 1.5" wide rims, or maybe even get slightly wider tires if you have the fork and frame clearance for it.
