Due to the weather people predicting rain this afternoon. I got out at 7:30 this morning for a ride. I rode for 19 miles had intended more, but the wind was picking up, and I decided it wasn’t worth it. The sky was blue and sunny when I left the house with the temperature about 48f degrees.

... and how! 66 miles from Gloucester, Mass. to Kittery, Maine on the Raleigh Sports. Will return tomorrow.

Indigenous Peoples called this site “Quascacunquen,” meaning waterfall, referring to the falls on the Parker River.

Hugging the coast ...

Finally got out today. Lately if it wasn’t cold it was ridiculously windy. Haven’t put the computer on the bike yet but went about 18 miles. Cruised through the neighborhoods and on the MUT into downtown and road around. Beautiful day.

Pic of Downtown but not from today’s ride. Forgot to take one.

Cheers,

Scott

I left the house at 7 am this morning as my day was going to be busy starting at 9 am. I got a 13 mile ride in to start my day. I needed light gloves and my headband but the weather was fine.

12 mile ride around a local
lake. The bushes are starting seed or whatever they do. I have loved that smell since I was a kid. I love spring!

I got out on the road this morning at 8:15 am for a 21 mile ride. The temp out the door was 48 degrees so gloves and an ear warmer were needed. The sky was blue and mostly cloudless but the wind. I am not loving the wind. It was gusting at 20 mph. Anyway, I found a 20 mile ride from my house and that is good.

Yeah, 20 miles under cloudless Socal skies, with temps approaching 80's. First ride in a while without leg warmers! Looking forward to summer so we can stop complaining about the cold and start doing so for the heat!

Maybe wild honeysuckle? That's what I'm smelling on my rides in the spring time.
Did 10 miles today. A bit breezy, but nice to get out.

Not honeysuckle-I like that too.
These are big bushes that have a hard white spore/seed on them.

Weather was nice today (4/18) so loaded up the bike and headed out to the local MUP. Surprised--might only have been 8 cars in the parking lot. To say my riding was not up to par would be an understatement tho. Just didn't feel "up to snuff" today. Did manage to ride 15.3 miles at an average 11.6 mph. To be honest, think it would have been lower except there are several bridges over the stream that runs along and coming down off of them is fun! One tough hill that I usually climb, only made 2/3 up. (in fairness, many younger than me don't make it that far). It usually seems like an effortless ride, today felt like a struggle. But with all the rain we've had, glad to get a ride in, even if not epic!

This morning was raining so I decided I still wanted to ride so instead of my 8/9 am start I would ride later in the day. I left the house at 1:05 and was able to get a 14 mile ride in. At least I was able to get out today even though it was raining this am.

103km today, riding out to Saitama and coming back along Tokyo Bay. The lion’s share of the ride was into a nasty headwind, and it wore me out. Luckily, once off the Arakawa river bike trail, the wind helped me get the last 20k home. It’s supposed to rain in Tokyo from Monday to Wednesday, and I was determined to get in a long ride today. Of course, I wouldn’t be surprised if the next three days turn out to be nice.

45-mile ramble in the Boston suburbs with a couple of local friends. I was hoping for warmer and sunnier weather, but it was still good to be out on a bike and see spring coming along.

Another day with a late start, I was able to get out at 11:00 am after my husband’s doctor appointment. I got 20 miles in and that was enough for today. The sky was clear and busy with busy winds gusting up to 25mph.
And while crossing a street that I was 3/4 of the way across, the guy took a right turn in front of me. I veered so I wouldn’t hit him. Oh then gave him the finger(which I am not proud of myself). I stopped at the bench which was on the side of the road to sit for a few minutes(this was planned before the incident). While I sat there and was calling my husband asking him to make me a cup of tea as I was on my way home. The guy came back kind and got out of his Jeep walking towards me. I was a little nervous. He apologized and told me he didn’t see me. I accepted his apology and thanked him. It was thoughtful of him to come back and apologize.

Did laps around the neighborhood loop. Beautiful out, around 60F. Wind still kicking up 15-20mph. The wind was strange today. One minute its coming out of the south then a couple minutes later its coming from the north. I guess they call that variable. Got in ~16 miles.

Cheers,

Scott

I left the house at 8:45 this morning to ride to the senior center. Where I spent the day playing cards. At 3 o’clock I left the Senior Center with my eight dollars in winnings,, and rode my bike home.
