Masi Team 3V pix

So here are some pix of the new-to-me 3V. I was really surprised to see the advert for it since I had pretty much given up hope of seeing one my size. Speaking of which, this one is stamped 52 but it measures exactly the same as the Nuova Strada that is stamped 53. Perhaps Mondonico and Billoto(presumably) use a different cm scale. Those crazy Italians! The 52M5 makes it a 1995 according to what I could find. A really exceptional build quality as is the Nuova Strada. And the great paint. there are of course some zits on a 20+year old bike but nothing that I can't live with. Maybe touch it up a bit this summer. Since every thing is under the clear coat I assume there was never a tubing sticker or "made in" sticker. since Torelli was so proud as to get their sticker under the clear I wonder why the others never made it. Ah, well - BFD, eh?

I have one, a bit bigger, note the Chainstays are Big at the bottom bracket shell, like 25mm with paint.
Took me a long while to become friends with the rings at the lug, tube interface.

I never could find myself one of these....
Either they are way too expensive or beat up and rusty...
Maybe one day, one will eventually come up for me.......
The straight ended "lugs" do take some getting used to, but I remember I found them kinda cool when I first saw one if these in a shop in the 80's, mostly because I was awed by the the high tech,
OS steel tubing.

Yeah, BIG does seem to be a common design element AFA the appearance goes the tech look of the lugs sorta overcomes the rings. Sorta. As luck would have it this one was neither rusty nor expensive compared to the prices I've seen on others. And I'd just flipped some items from another hobby and the $ were just recycled (no pun intended) saving what would have felt like an expenditure
And the thing does ride just way nice.
Very Italian

I've had the fortune to own a few of these frames in the purple variant. Love them. My current setup is a Centaur 10 speed and have had luck fitting 28c tires on them too. The only italian frame in my collection that has the clearance.
