It looks great on paper.

Actually, if you're just riding for fun, the trail is pretty nice, with a couple of caveats (I lived there for 8 years, and rode it quite frequently in the summer).

It's not practical for commuting just about anywhere useful.

The drivers in Wichita are some of the worst in the world (and I lived all over the US, in Europe, and Japan), so be careful at all the road crossings.

It's never NOT windy in Wichita. It sucks to ride in.

Any riding before about mid March is risky because it tends to get and stay icy there in the winter.

The drivers in Wichita are some of the worst in the world.

Thank you!

I will be there in May, and I will stick to the MUP being I don't know the local roads and the driver habits. The trail follows the river to the west and that is usually some nice scenic riding most times. I just don't want to be stuck with the family the whole time....

Wind always sucks here in SD so I am not going to worry about that so much.

If you're used to the wind, you probably won't have any problems them.

Just remember, the drivers in Wichita are some of the worst in the world.

I'm FROM Kansas, and always hated driving through Wichita... Retired navy, driven in a lot of places around the US and abroad. Now in Utah as well. And it seems some Utah drivers went to Wichita for lessons...

Looking for a GREAT reason to go back and ride the recently finished Flints Hills trails...

Wow, a lot (almost all of them listed) are new since I left Wichita. Miller's Meadow was the only game in town back then, and it frankly sucks.

It's single track, through trees, but it's flat (as in flat as Kansas flat).
