I, too, sweat a LOT. I wear a "do rag." The one I have was designed for use by firemen and has kind of a thin spongy material inside. You can soak it in cool water, tie it on your head, and it helps keep you a bit cooler in addition to preventing the sweat running down into your eyes.

I really sweat in my old age, Halo skull cap is what I use now. I also remove my sunglasses on long climbs when it's hot.

I wear a skull cap. Works well for me, even on very hot days (though a distant memory....I almost FROSTBIT my fingers today).

Before you buy a head band, skull cap, or anything. Try what might be in your kitchen (not olive oil). I use Kleenex Viva absorbent towel.

Its very absorbent, light weight, probably thinner than a head band, can be folded over or doubled up for extra absorbency, can act as a paper towel in case of a unscheduled pit stop, allows helmet vents to do their job, etc.

Price is right and it just might be in your kitchen right now, absorbing the stuff on the counter tops.

On some rides, when the temps are high or the humidity high, its easy to swap out the towel and insert another one.

In some of these fancy schmancy restaurants or hotels, the bathrooms have these paper towels that seem to cost like a buck a piece. I was tempted to get one of those and compare it with the Kleenex Viva for the sweat thing. Not done that yet.

I wear a Giro wicking cycling cap under my helmet. Even without, the helmet does a good job of keeping sweat of my eyes. My old helmet, a Bell Solar, would let sweat run down and get into my eyes--the new one, Specialized Echelon, does not. I use the cycling cap mainly for the bill so I can keep low sun out of my eyes, but I have found that the cap keeps my hair drier as well. I'm also lucky. It takes a lot of heat and humidity before I sweat a lot. I never been much of a sweater. So if I'm covered in sweat, it's bad out there.

I used to have the same issue. A few years ago, I started wear a cycling cap under my helmet. One is thicker for cool days and one is made with jersey material for hot days (doesn't get hot at all). I no longer have sweat running down into my eyes. Since I have very limited hair on top my head, I like the cap to keep the sun off my scalp too.

I'm sure the olive oil trick works great, but isn't it a pain carrying the breadstick the whole ride? I assume that's how you are soaking up the excess liquid.

I imagine there's a few members in the Northeast who can't remember the last time sweating was a problem!

I've been sweating profusely in athletic activities for 6 decades and have always needed a supply of head and wrist bands. For riding, I wear at least a wrist band, and for longer rides, I'll wear both or stuff an extra one of each in a pocket or hang on the bike. A washcloth is also usually folded over my waistband or wherever, and I use that to dry off my head and helmet padding when I stop; I can also soak it in a fountain or stream to cool off.

A reminder that if you sweat a lot, you need extra hydration.

Halo skull cap. Works great for me. I also have an assortment of cloth skull caps, that work well too. I have to try the olive oil idea. Also, Carbon Fiber Boy, I am finding that taking nettle every day is allowing hair growth on my bald mostly bald head. Wife noticed it the other day actually. I did too, just wasn't saying anything. Been taking the supplement for a month now. So far, it's thin, but certainly all over. Kinda cool.

I find that wearing a ventilated skull cap delays the sweat in my eyes until I stop at the end of the ride.

I found that Western Bike Works sells replacement pad sets for a LOT of helmets. Now I buy replacement pads when I get a new helmet.

I just wipe off my forehead with my riding gloves. I can't stand headbands of any kind when its hot out.

A recumbent bicycle. Really. I went bent because of arthritis in my hands, but an unexpected advantage has been that the slightly-leaning-back head position means that most of the sweat runs backward. In addition, I get more air flow on my chest and face, helping me keep not-so-hot.

In hot weather, I still have to grab a sweat band when I stop, and occasionally on a slow uphill in the sun. Before the bent, I made terry pads for the front of my helmet. Don't need them now.
