"Birdland" is a jazz piece written by Joe Zawinul of the band Weather Report as a tribute to the Birdland nightclub in New York City, which appeared on the band's 1977 album Heavy Weather. The Manhattan Transfer won a Grammy Award with their 1979 version of the song, which had lyrics by Jon Hendricks.[1]Quincy Jones won two Grammy Awards for the version of the piece he included on his 1989 album Back on the Block.[2]

They had to retitle it Morning Train because this movie and huge hit came out at about the same time...
Sheena never gets credit for For Your Eyes Only, When He Shines, Sugar Walls and U Got The Look....

OK, skip the lyrics and go with the Weather Report version.

As an aside,I believe this was during Fred Silverman's tenure at NBC and while he had some real stinkers in the lineup before leaving, the TV specials seemed to be really interesting. For instances that video came from their 1978 NBC special and the one really notable performance on Pink Lady and Jeff was when Alice Cooper performed (We're All) Clones from his album Flush The Fashion, which you will see also has some really cool special effects.

On the other hand, I suppose that might have worked if you hadn't first picked a song that went platinum. 🤔

You should always wash your hands after a feast before playing a guitar.

We know you try to sing the Spanish part and fail badly.
Still not terrible though.

Ever notice that almost all rap has the same melody?
When this brain binging of annoyingly bad songs affliction happens to me I try and find music more to my liking first chance I get. That's based on an assumption I won't like annoyingly bad songs regardless of my friends opinions.

Well I posted a scene on FB yesterday from the Original '84 "Repo Man". The one where Emilio Estevez quits his job at the supermarket just before getting fired. Now that stupid 7UP commercial his nerdy coworker was singing just won't leave my brain. I might even have to try and nuke it with some Lonzo and Oscar.
