Eroica California Vintage bicycle event and ride April 14-15, 2018

Hi,

Since most of us grew up with vintage bikes of the 60s-80s, Eroica California may be of interest to you.

Hi, all who are still thinking of going but have not yet registered! Per the EroicaCalifornia website, registration fees of $150 have been extended to April 14th!

So if you want to go, register ASAP and get your ride ready. If you have friends who haven't yet decided, let them know about this and give them a firm nudge. We really want to see an increase from the 850 riders of last year. Same for the new Nova Eroica event, held this year only in conjunction with the regular Eroica ride but not riding together at any time.

While you're at it, please check in on our BF Eroica page here:j

I did it last year, a friend loaned me a vintage bike. Worst part was riding with toe clips and without proper cycling shoes/cleats. I can't go this year but maybe next, ride Nova Eroica on my new gravel bike. I really like the coastal route.

Ride the Nova Eroica that uses the 87 mile Coasral route with any kind of modern bike. Quite a challenge! Or rent a Vintage bike from Wally's bike shop in San Luis Obispo for the vintage Eroica rides.

I un resto-modded my 83 Team Fuji to qualify for Eroica if I choose to run in it. It's all back to original, or period correct.

Not this year.

I still have my sidi shoes that have the nylon platform pedal cleat and my old 1980's bike.

Maybe next year.

UPDATE to first post: The registration price of $150 has been extended to April 14th, so everyone who wants to go will pay the same price and no increases. Space is still available for RV and camping for those inclined, and there's still some accommodations available in Paso, Templeton, and Atascadero, also check AirBnb, and my C&V Eroica thread - possible some may have additional space available.

For anyone in the NorCal area, Gugie is running an RV from San Jose Airport to Paso and back and has room for 4 more folks. Search for his thread in C&V.

Hope to see you all there!
