European Motobecane Mirage Sport from Denmark
It was suggested that I edit the title to mention this Mirage was from Denmark,
I am looking for info on this bike with the Sturmey Archer 3+2, or 5 speed rear hub.
Thanks

That's a pretty cool bike.
Some more info on the hub can be found on Sheldon Brown's website. Seems like it's a Wide Range/Narrow Range selector.
How does it ride?

Thank you for the reminder about the article on Sheldon's site.
I have not done much on it yet, except to clean and lubricate the basta wheel lock and get it operational. The white Mundialita saddle had a gouge in it, so I ordered a replacement burgundy Mundialita saddle off feebay, which should arrive today.
Brake hoods totally dry rotted, when I replace I will have to rewrap bars, thinking maybe burgundy tape?
Next week I will clean and lube hubs, headset and bottom bracket. probably replace cables while I am at it.

European market bike. We never got that one in the States. The Sturmey 5-speed is a real find and it does operate like a dual-range 3-speed. The left shifter determines whether you are using the narrow range or the wide range of the right-shifted three speeds.

I have the exact same model..! And I also live in Denmark.
My dad bought it in Aarhus either when he moved here in ‘85 or just before my parents moved to Haderslev in ‘88. Can’t remember which.
It’s mostly been in his garage for the last twenty something years until I inherited it when he moved back to Norway last year.
Since I’ve started riding it the years are beginning to show, though, and I’ve made some changes in order for it to ride better and fit my needs. There were to many problems with the old gear and I’ve changed the back wheel for a single speed to name one.
Does anyone know if it’s possible to get hold of a new decals set for this model and colour? I would very much like to have it repainted at some point.
Best regards
