Tubeless on Velocity Dyad rims?
Hi! I have an old touring bike that I've set up as gravel-ish for bikepacking + winter commuting in nyc, with 650b velocity dyad rims and 41mm surly knard tires. After about a year and a half (2500 miles or so) the tires were probably ready for replacement anyway, and I damaged one by grinding a misaligned brakepad against the sidewall. I'm looking into replacement options and considering the tubeless knards that surly now offers, but the guy at the LBS told me he worries that even with a double layer of tape the tires won't seal properly in the dyads. What do you think? Worth the risk, or should I stick with a tube setup?

I agree with the shop guy. The Dyad doesn't have the proper "ledge" at the bead seat for tubeless. (Compare cross-sections with the A23.)
