Commuted on my 34:17 mountain bike to work and even delivered for Jimmy John's with it today. Legs are spent from spinning the damn thing. Upgrades are coming.

Home with the flu and can't ride my bikes, so I rested by doing a bunch of work on them all. New tires on the commuter and fixed a rattling fender, new stem on the road bike, and a bunch of new stickers on the fixed gear. Best way to take my mind off not being able to ride.

Today I switched off the icemaker in my refrigerator, and got the winter cycling clothing out of the closet. Jack Frost is just around the corner.

Of course my wife is already chasing me about "winterizing" the house.
Meteorologists are predicting a colder winter in the south of the USA due to "El Niño".

Well, I'm in North Texas, and it gets pretty cold here in late fall and winter.

I invested $12 in new bearings, pressed them into place, and have an ugly, but fully usable Phil bottom bracket for my troubles:

I guessed "Ciudad de las Vacas" was Fort Worth and I just assumed it was further south than it really is.
Now we need one of those "Winter is coming" memes.

High 40's and raining up here around Seattle. Perfect day to take out the Venge with the new winter tires. Also, new gearing for Seattle terrain. Hopefully I will not notice the top end loss, but pick up a lot of hill gearing. I will know in about an hour.

Yeah, Fort Worth, aka Cowtown, hence Ciudad de Vacas. The middle of the country gets a lot colder in winter than the coasts. We get these arctic airstreams, that can easily get the lows in single digits and keep the daytime highs below freezing. We normally don't get a lot of snow, although last winter we got about a foot, and I broke out my old cross-country skiis. The worst weather are ice storms, which can shut things down for days and destroys the roads.

I got to use mine for the first time in years on a rust-bucket Legnano dropped off at my house. Got the rings out no problem, but there was so much rust that the cartridge wouldn't budge. I ended up pounding it out with a hammer:

I just got back from making some bad(rad) decisions at a swap meet.
Y'all ain't even ready.
Granted it might take a couple months before I want to post anything, but y'all ain't ready.

I'm rocking a Core i5 Macbook Pro from 2010 and updated to El Capitan last week, I feel like mine is actually a bit faster now, if anything.

Vintage philwood had rub on decals, steel shelled early stuff (hubs, BB's) were prone to rust too in less than ideal storage over time!

Today I got 4.5 hours of sleep thanks to the barking dog upstairs. Thank you so much considerate neighbor, whom I have spoken with and made suggestions on how to get the barking to stop. You decided to not follow my advice. I hope you enjoy the phone call from the complex today with your ultimatum.
