Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Those are all nice, but I'd take 10w of FTP over it.

Also, over in my world, when we say "the bike" we basically mean "the frame". It doesn't matter if you buy a P2 or a P5, or an IA16 or an IA1. Buy the one that fits, set it up correctly, and you'll give up nothing. A well-equipped B16 gives up nothing to anything.

Kudos.

I was in the car a couple days ago, we're minding our own business driving up the hill and a car makes a left turn from the apartments. I thought he/she would just ease along in the center lane until we cleared, but no, she proceeds to our lane. Had to slam on the brakes to avoid a collision. Amazing how drivers seemingly don't even look.

Speaking of vintage bikes that are a size too big for me... this popped up for $250, and it's awfully difficult to say no...

You know where she lives, and that sounds intentional. Not necessarily in order of importance to you, but it is to me.

I like to give people the benefit of the doubt, she looked right at me, but looking and seeing are too different things. As far as the finger, some people only know how to communicate one way.

After about the 53rd time of something like that happening, you'll look back on this statement with a different outlook.

Aha, good tip regarding the reload, that works for me. However now they'll NEVER fix the problem if nobody but me complains.

Offense is cute, but there have been way too many cases of "high-flying unstoppable offenses" suddenly being stoppable at the end of the season (a couple of times the Patriots, the Broncos with Peyton the first time, the Rams, the Cardinals, the Ravens the last two times, KC last year) and even more in the college games) for me to pick them.
I hope you're wrong, a Frisco-Tenn game would be ugh.

I know what I am talking about. Soda has too much sugar for this application.

I could be wrong; I'll probably be wrong on one of them. However, defense is bigger than people want to accept. Even the high-offense teams that win tend to win when they also have stout defenses. For all the talk of how great Brees is and how great the Saints offense is... they got their ring during the Bountygate year. I can't remember a mediocre defense winning the SB, no matter how much people talked about their offense. Am I missing one?

Is there a thread for it over in that forum? I looked briefly but didn't see one. If so, I'll make it my mission to pin that damn thing down.

The Greatest Show on Turf Rams are probably the closest fit, but it's not like they had a horrible D.

Ah yes. That was before my fandom, but I should also clarify that this is in the context of the mantra I've heard for the last decade that it's a quarterback league, offense is king, defense has been hamstrung, and the path to victory is a #1 overall QB and a defense that can maybe slow the other team a bit. My position is also fed by all the accolades I've heard for Rivers and Romo, who are supposed to be up there with the greatest but can't sniff a SB berth, along with all the scorn for Eli who won it twice with a smothering defense. I just literally can't remember the all-offense-meh-defense approach ever working.
