Peugeot Road Bike - $100 (Montague)

Through-tube rear brake routing and 103 tubing would make this a PH10 variant, PH10L or possibly LE. I believe the two I've owned were '84, one I bought here on BF from a member down in FL. Probably the same year. I have it stuck in my craw the black + through-tube routing was only a one-year thing, and it was pearl white the year prior and/or after.

Standard hardware was SX610 out back and SJ102 in front, if memory serves. Swaged crankset. "Sun" style shift levers with annoyingly small cable-head provisions, so people not using proper cables often jam the lead head in the shifter.

Pretty solid bike. Nothing special, but solid, tasteful. Swaged crankset and heavy ass steel headset were its weak points IMO. These came with really, really bulletproof, lightweight Modele 58 Wolber rims, which I don't think is what's shown in the US catalogs. Just so happens to be one of my all-time favorite budget touring wheelsets.

Good price for it, considering it needs a full overhaul.

Of course seller wants to keep these two together! They've been a couple, let them stay a couple.

Wait until he sees the ads by the flipper who sells them separately.

thumpism

There's a story behind that. A few years ago I was out looking at a snowblower for sale with my wife. We'd had that you don't need any more bikes talk, but I wasn't listening because instead of coming out of the guys garage with a blower, I was pushing two bikes. Both were Raleigh GP, one fit me and one didn't. Wife said that it wouldn't fit me so why buy it? I told her (in front of seller) that seller had bought them together and that they'd been together for over 25 years and I wasn't going to separate them "in their old age", because I wasn't heartless. Both seller and my wife looked at me like I was a bit nuts. I always remember that story when I see ads with two bikes being"sold together" and I laugh. Funny, no one else laughs.....

LA sale

Classic Vintage Schwinn Peloton - $225 (Long Beach)

Cherry Red Schwinn Peloton racing bike. Single owner, I think purchased in the mid 80s. 19” frame. Suntour Superbe Pro groupset. Royal Gran Compe brakes (Dia Compe). Araya sew-up rims (no tires included, they were falling apart). Hubs and wheels in great shape and very true. Cinelli bars and stem. Mavic pedals. Original Avocet saddle. Columbus tubing. Frame is made in Japan.

Decent shape but needs a little love. Headset is pitted. Missing seat post bolt. You will need to glue on a pair of sew up tires to ride this bicycle.

"Rear derailleur is missing bolt " Guessing means fixing bolt to lock cable??. If you have a spare derailleur might be a very cheap fix
Centurion Sport DLX vintage road bike - $60 (Charleston)

Steel lugged road bike. Rear derailleur is missing bolt so it needs a new derailleur and cable.

One little known fact about Peugeots is that when they mate like that, they mate for life. Unlike the decidedly hedonistic and unfaithful Motobecanes, who actually left France to be built more cheaply out of merde in Taiwan.

San Diego - needs touch ups but seller recognizes that it's not perfect. Has new tires and that Suntour Cyclone stuff too

1980's KHS Aero Turbo Vintage Road bike Xlarge - $200 (Poway)

Selling my KHS Aero Turbo road bike. This bike is definitely for the discerning cyclist on a budget. This bike is a Large-XL frame. 58 cm top tube and 62 cm seat tube. I am 6'2" with 32" inseam and it is a pretty good fit. If you have a 34"+ inseam, it would be perfect.
The good:
This bike is very good at attracting attention. From the very 80's decals to the hot pink paint. I have gotten numerous compliments from random cyclists while out on my weekend rides.
The bike rides amazingly well for being over 30 years old. (I am not entirely sure what year this bike is as the internet has very little info about this specific model). I have had this thing up to 34 mph on flat road and it felt surefooted and stable.
This bike has been modified with a 7 speed cassette and newer Mavic wheelset to make hills a bit easier.
New Conti tires and tubes were just installed.

The bad:
The paint is not perfect, which makes it a good commuter bike.
The headtube is a steeper angle than most modern bikes, so the handlebars don't center as they would on most bikes, meaning I would not ride this thing without hands.
I have had this bike set to friction shifting, but it can have indexed shifting, I just never bothered with setting that up.

Pedals and pump are not included. I might have some old flat pedals I can throw in with it, though.

Oh yeah ... and the fork is bent to hell. Head tube isn't "steep". Fork is bent and so is the top tube.

PS - looks like it's also bucked enough it cracked the paint on the downtube here, possibly the metal, just in front of the shift levers, they took a closeup of it. Iissue is, this person doesn't know bikes. That's a parts bike. You can see the downturn and another deformity on the top tube about an inch behind the head tube here if you zoom in.
