FS: Beautiful Antique Wright's W5 Sprung Saddle
Hello folks!
I got this saddle on a Raleigh Popular roadster from around 1950, which the previous owner had purchased and used while living in Cyprus some years ago. It had a cover on the saddle which was very tightly fit and also in good condition, and possibly nearly as old as the saddle itself. When I took the cover off I was blown away by how well-preserved this saddle was! I've only cleaned the chrome rails of dust and applied a single coat of Proofide to the top of the leather, and have otherwise just had it on display in my study. The leather is still very sturdy and I assume quite comfortable given the amount of flex between the saddle and rails.
I have a rough idea of how much it is worth based on eBay searches and the prices of typically much less well-preserved examples (as well as comparable Brooks models), so I will ask $150 for it and that includes the price of shipping within the continental United States. Cheers!
