Thanks so much for the completed images!
Looking great.
wrt removal of tricoleur tape -
there is an old adage about dressing for ladies in the fashion world wrt accessories -
"When you think you are ready to go out the door take one last look in the mirror and choose one accessory to remove."
---
Harlequin taping -
never would have had the temerity to essay that one in a million years
great job with it!
just the thing for Arleen Sorkin (AKA Harley Quinn)

Thanks
The wrap was a good set back but also a carrot to urge me on to further practice.
I'm a bit of a sucker for old school techniques and because I don't have the gear (or skill) to frame build I like looking for ways to express my own creativity into a build.

For a Huret, get you a New Success for a derailleur. Which was one of their better ones.

Great build! Do you use BLO from the store or do you boil your own. I too only thought it a wood product, but the is an interesting application. As far as I know, there are chemical drying agents in today’s BLO, so not pure linseed, but I could be wrong.
I wrapped my wife’s Gitane in harlequin as well. I wanted to do a three color French flag, but the process was more than my brain and two hands could handle. Maybe when we learn to communicate with octopi, I can hire one to do it. I went asymmetric with the colors instead.
