Need to replace my helmet....
For those that do wear a lid, please chime in. I've been wearing a Giro "roadie" helmet for the past 4 years or so. Great helmet, but the suspension is starting to deteriorate and thus I'd like to replace it. Looking at a BMX style lid as I just like them. Not near the ventilation of a roadie helmet, but they seem more my style.
So what should I be looking at? The Bell Segment looks good, but maybe I am overlooking other makes/models.

Helmets are like shoes. No two heads are the same, and something that fits me comfortably may be a poor choice for you. I will only buy new shoes and hemets that I can try on first. I suggest you do the same.

I'll second that Bern is a good option for the style helmet you are looking for. I sport their Allston model, which I find to have a nice balance of style and function.

I had a Giro Atmos but it didn't fit quite right. I went with a Catlike Whisper in matte red. Fits my big round head just great. Looks like a round cheese grater.

I have the same problem with my Giro helmet. The padding on the inside is tearing and folding back in spots...about the same age. I fixed it once with shoe goo. I may try that one more time before getting a new one.

If you are sure you really want a BMX/skater lid on the road...

I only use mine for MTBing but it has lots of vents, is pretty light, and I can tell you from experience it holds up to crashes really well
Not to mention they are always on sale somewhere for pretty cheap

The Giro reverb is sweet. On the upside, it's a lot cooler that most all of the other skate style helmets. I use mine through the hottest days of summer. On the downside, it's definitely not for offroad, as the rear protection is pretty minimal. It's a great helmet for people with smaller heads, who don't want their helmet looking huge in comparison.
