How Fast Can You Corner while Riding Through Fallen Leaves?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Don't attempt that when in your 60/11.

A shattered tibia or leg isn't fun. When encountering sketchy terrain, get off and walk.

Yes, of course. Just make sure you do so in a polite tone so others don't think you are being rude.

Seriously, sorry to hear you were injured and hope all healed well.

Riding over leaves or any other low friction surface you need to slow down before entering the turn. How much depends on a lot of factors, but caution is advisable. While blasting through dry leaves that accumulate on the street is fun (I'm in my 50s and it is just as much fun as it was when I was 10) they can hide branches, road debris, potholes, grates and other evils. Wet leaves can be a slick as ice. Asking how fast you can corner on them is like asking how fast you can take a corner on a decent. The answer lies in the details and will be different for every encounter.

Wasn't me, but thanks for the sympathy! My friend fractured his femoral neck after hitting a patch of sand at the apex of a corner on a training ride, that's not his x-ray either but he had some hardware put in there.

My Crabon Fibre, Disk Breaked, Walmart special, Titanium Speedster sucks the slippery off the fallen leaves and applies it as lube directly to my chain.
You should try it. It's the best!

I had a close call with a banana peel on my ride today. Very scary! So watch out for those too.

At least it wasn't a banana in the tailpipe.

Gumwall tires take the leafy corners better, based on my expert opinion.

Leaves are a danger people should take seriously, especially when they are wet. Don;t ask me how I know.....

Also, pines needles and those pesky acorns too.
