"not arguing with wife" is better for your health than bike exercise.

My wife has made some comments similar to the “mistress” thing. I have a special little sunroom off the livingroom that has my classic racers on display. She says it’s my “altar”. Being a preacher, I told her to please not refer to my rare classics as idols but rather investments, to which she knows the value of them in the event of my demise. I shouldnt have done that.

No worries here, TimothyH. Been married to this gal for over 30 years and I don't plan on kicking her out anytime soon!

Can't believe not one of you slackers posted this. "My life, my love, my lady, is the sea."

My wife doesn't object to my cycling. In fact, sometimes I will return from a long bike ride, and she'll give me a sly look and say, "Want to go for another ride?"

No offense...but your wife may be trying to tell you something. I have no idea how she said it, but I've had my wife say similar things in the past (been married 46 years) and what she meant was; "I don't like being second to anything or anyone. And I didn't marry you to be a mistress...I assumed I was getting a life partner". We had struggles and lots of counseling and by the grace of God we are still together. However, I was missing/or ignoring that signal for a long time.
Just my .02.

Hmmm! I ride steel, aluminum, and carbon but I have to say, my mistress of 32 years is still a better ride!

LOL. My husband offered to take me to my favorite yarn store this weekend, but they are closed on Sundays. He just wanted to go for a ride in my convertible to look at the foliage. I loaded the bikes on the car and we went to the same general area to ride. He hadn't been on his bike in over a month.

My wife is my wife.

My bikes are my bikes.

My dogs are my dogs.

I love them all dearly, in their own special way. I couldn’t imagine life being much fun without either one of them.

Better a mistress than a widow. At least I hope she sees it that way.
