So what happens here when winter sets in?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

So what happens here when winter sets in?

I'm sure there are places like SoCal and FL where it doesn't matter much that winter is coming.
But when winter hits, does this forum turn into a food forum or anything?
Does the posting slow down?...or maybe it picks up due to less riding and more "at home" time.

And sorry for this newbie question, but...

Why is this forum also known as "the 41"?

The quality of the content of the threads becomes much more informative, since people have more time to research topics. And since they are riding their trainers and rollers so much at all hours of the day, there is much less posting. And there's much less bickering since everyone is training so hard. Just wait, you'll see.......

I realize my post seems tailor-made for cracking wise, but I was seriously wondering. Not that it really matters, I guess. I can stick around to see what happens. Just curious.
And I was serious about "the 41" thing. What's the deal with that?...can't wait for all the "serious" answers to that.

..."the 41" is a reference to an old numbering system that delineated the various forums. Road was "41" , but it died some years back.

Mostly, you can look forward to people who are crabby from cabin fever getting even crabbier here. And none of them will bring donuts, either.

The number of troll threads (and subsequent spinoffs) increase. It's quite humorous to see people get cranky about (as previously mentioned) even though the trolls are called out early.

Cabin fever sets in and people start posting really weird threads.

It has already begun.

Winter in the northern hemisphere is summer where I live! So it is with a great deal of glee and chuckling that I post photos like this ...

When winter sets in and the snow flies I break out the winter touring bike and winter camping gear and go winter bike camping. I love it! No blackflies or mosquitoes.

Cheers

You look at ride reports from sunny Australia.
