New arrival

I went out to buy one bike last night and ended up coming home with a lot more! I don't have many photos yet, and won't have more until the weekend...but a tease. Photos stink because I took them at night in poor conditions.

We'll do a tease and see if someone can get what the main piece is:

A goodie in the parts box -

Lots more to come!

That's easy. It's a galvanized garbage can. I could tell that even with that other stuff in front of it.

I'm bad at this game. It looks to be the right color for a Masi. Or maybe a Colnago? But not likely with that Rally on there.

Clearly a Waste Master, 35 gallon, pre-1980 (no lawyer lips or CSPC nonsense) trash can. Fully rigid, fully manual operation. They give you immediate input when moving from behind the house to the curb. From when trash cans required some actual skill to use, none of this wheels on the bottom, lid attached with cord stuff.

This isn't the forum to discuss selling them...but I probably will move them on. Not anything guessed yet.

Ding ding ding!

This is a photo of it when the prior owner registered it with the PR list...I'll provide my own when possible. It's a little rougher now than when this was taken.

Also in this score - a mystery bike that I'm 95% sure is a Motobecane Grand Record, extra wheels, and some fun parts.

Was that the bike you had your eye on from the Lancaster area?

Funny how stuff keeps popping up there.

Yessiree...I wasn't going to check it out, but curiosity got the best of me. The bike I think is a Moto has a BEAUTIFUL and great condition 70s Brooks Pro.

The Frejus has a pretty cool back story...the last owner had gotten it from a family friend - a Temple employee named Percy Reid, who was a cycling addict in the 60s, rode his bike up to NYC, saw this in the shop window of Tom Avenia, traded in his bike and rode this back home. The PO and family went on rides with Percy and Percy eventually sold him his prized steed.

They might be - I think both might have been in production in the early 60s.

Other goodies included a Campy offset wrench for Brooks saddles, a great condition Sugino mighty...some other campy bits...

Yes - the back plate has some damage. Tragic.

Someone will want it as is, if for nothing else than parts (which look darn good with the one notable exception).

The fenders are original - but the rear has a tear in the metal. The front has some minor dents that I could address. I'll take photos of everything when able - probably tomorrow.

The PO must have been a student of the Grant Peterson school of saddle/stem height offset

Very, very nice score - I can hardly wait to see all the other stuff you came home with!
