I'd guess that bike was too high-end to have stem shifters. Would they have fitted it with stem shifters simply because the frame is so tall?

Then again, witness the suicide levers and spoke protector...

^^^^^ It's also got turkey levers, Schwinn-esque rat-trap pedals and a cheeeeep saddle. It's a just-after-the-bike-boom bike.

Still, a free Raleigh in Raleigh; cool. I wonder if I'll ever come across a free Schwinn Madison.....

They did a nice job cleaning it. What's the purpose of this loop around the rear derailleur cable on the chainstay?

Yep, I always thought that too, figure I would add a plastic sleeve/straw maybe with a wrap of electrical tape for a roller to protect the protector that would of course wear the paint off as well.

Since then it has been sitting under cover in his house and mine. Cuervas built all of his bikes by hand in his shop in Spain and New York. This bike is truly one of a kind and an example like this is very rare to come by. It’s a museum piece in every sense of the word.

All Campagnolo components
Cinelli quill stem and bars
Profile seat
Reynolds 753 frame

The bike is a 9.5 out of 10. There is zero rust or corrosion on the bike. However, there is a small scratch underneath the bottom bracket, one small chip on the top tube and , and a broken strap on the left toe clip from age. The wheels are for tubular tires. The front wheel has the original tubular on it and I replaced the rear when I got the bike because the original had disintegrated. The only thing on the bike that is not original is the rear tire.

(Too small for me. 753! The title reads $800, so perhaps that's his bottom line? I am going to continue this post with more pictures, as there are more. It's a new marquee to me, and I'd like to preserve the better than average photos this seller has posted.)
It's odd that the seller hasn't noticed that CUEVAS has no R in it. (And BTW, a marquee is a tent, a marque is a brand.)

Trek 790 for $180 - Buffalo NY

The disadvantage to not being able to read the name on the bike is that your bikes sits and doesn't sell!

Listed as "Trey Bike"
https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...1323778738004/

Not the mountain bike but the hybrid and I believe they are popular gravel bikes

I haven't ridden a 970 but only heard good things about these. I believe it to be a good price.

Looks like it has tire saver attached to frame suggesting owner cared about it. Photo of tires added so possibly thrown in. If tires are included, one still has tag so they might be new. Bike is Hamburg, NY

For all you super vintage Trek dudes out in central Oregon, $500 for three early-era examples in various states of being (grubby and needing love, but great paint). I can't tell if I'm looking at a Super Record RD in one of them. Still, $500 for all three? Great deal, IMO.
