Men In Black
I have now switch most of the bikes I own to Black tape. Even the Red '84 Cannondale ST-400. (God help me.) Black seems to last longer and wouldn't show the dirt as much. Anyone in the same boat as I am?

I use black on one road bike. For another, as I mentioned in another recent tape thread, I use two layers of handlebar tape, the first white and the second clear.

Black bar tape is my default. However for my two-tone tandem, which I sometimes solo for my commute, I am continuing to match the frame color scheme.
Keeps it flashy.

You don't see that drivetrain layout very often (ever?). How many standard chains does that need? Did you have a problem with cross-chaining or do you simply hate asking the Stoker what ring you are on?

I bought it used. It is noisy because it has an idler to support the long chain span, but everything works well. I haven’t changed the chain yet.
….and we’re now two topics removed from commuting.. I use it sometimes to commute when my primary is down and I have compatible rack and pedals on the tandem.
