"retro" saddle bags? and not crazy expensive?
so i am going to go ahead and be a jerk by coming here to start a new thread before doing any of my own research lol....
SOOOOOoooooooo i want a *fingerquotes* "RETRO" *endfingerquotes* black saddle bag. By retro i mean not futurist roadie looking. it would be i think the cherry on top for a more classically styled build of mine.
However i want it relatively CHEAP....ie no brooks leather saddle bags for a 100 plus dollars. its for a somewhat beater build. i guess you could call it a nice beater? ;p
just thought i would throw the inquiry out there. maybe somebody knows of other options im not aware of....k thanx

I have an Origin8 "Classique" saddlebag that I like quite a lot. It's made of canvass with leather straps, hooks onto saddle loops and can hold a case of bottled beer (or 18 cans!).
Hm. I tried to find it on the site for you, but now they only seem to have a much smaller, all leather one. Maybe it no longer exists.

Edit: Whoops. That Amazon one ships from Niagra Cycle Works.

Minnahaha has some retro styled saddle bags (some of which are carried by Velo Orange) that aren't too expensive.
https://www.minnehahabags.com/
I use Acorn Roll Bags on a couple of my bikes that I really like. On the small size but they carry what I need. They also have larger ones. More expensive as they are made in the USA. They are also a bit harder to source as they are a husband and wife team that makes a set amount of bags a month and post them for sale on the 1st of each month and by the next day are generally sold out. If you want an Acorn bag you generally need to visit their site on the 1st to buy. Actually I just went to their website and they do have a couple of models still for sale.

https://www.wiggle.co.uk/carradice/
Best deal on the internet is ordering Carradice bags from Wiggle. Classic saddlebags, still hand made in the UK; these are the originals that Origin 8 and others are knocking off and making in China or Taiwan. And Wiggle has free shipping to the USA if you order more than $80 or so, totally worth it. I've ordered from Wiggle and Nashbar on the same day and gotten my Wiggle order first.
If you're willing to spend a little more $$, I'd second the Acorn Bags suggestion too - top quality, hand made bags.
