Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Contextually, this sentence is a mess. Why did you use a plural "are" and a singular object. Is the wildlife eating men, or are men eating wildlife. Perhaps even an appropriately placed comma would have added clarity. I really pictured you riding through a camp ground, with many men eating squirrels on spits. It was, and is, disturbing.

One trick you can try, if traffic allows it, is to ride on the white line on the road. Keep your bike on that line as a training tool. It goes a long way in training your movements to hold a line.

Correct. Don't look down at your front wheel while doing this. Look ahead.

Very important MTB riding tactic that does help on the road. MTB riding forces you to look further and further ahead.

I only have one "classic" bike. The only reason I have a bike old enough to be called classic is because my budget priorities are out of whack.

Ruokie, it all depends on the moisture content. I'm pretty certain Mrs. LAJ will run them for 20 hours, or so, at low temperature.
