Might try it on a freezing walk shortly.

You can adapt your body to not eat itself alive, and instead, survive on the fat stores. As far as the bike, it's a lot of long rides without calories. Of course, the nonsense Velo Vol preaches about not drinking, is just that. But, I've done 80-100 miles rides on water, and it's entirely doable. That also includes not eating pre-ride, other than coffee. There are limits, you know, and coffee is not up for discussion.

WhyFi I'm curious - would you ride across the frozen lakes without studs if there was some snow cover?

I used to wonder how some members racked up so many posts, and then I read some of this thread....

"Fat adaptation" may or may not be related to this - I really don't know. I have made of point of riding early and on an empty stomach for a few years now, and the end result is that I'm not at all uncomfortable doing it, but the mechanics are beyond me.

Received my second vaccine dose yesterday, so today I'm experiencing a smidgen of nausea this morning, low grade fever and chills, but high grade fatigue. Well worth the price of admission, though.

Good deal, and I hope you don't get knocked down too hard.
I have an appt on Thursday. Once the Director found out we're dealing with the public, driving their junk, and otherwise mingling with the great unwashed, he gave us a link to set an appointment. Plus, age and some of that damn COPD, sort of put me in there.
I almost think I may have had it, in hindsight. I had a slight cold, but no other symptom. No fever, no loss of senses, none of that, other than a sore back. The sore back I attributed to weights, and didn't think twice. Lately though, my breathing is a little worse for wear, and I don't like that. I wouldn't think twice other than the fact that it came on almost overnight, so who knows.

I did. Despite a 30-hour hunger strike and 10-degrees below normal temperature, I willed my way through it. Quasi-slow jog temp. On the MUP I saw a quasi-fat tandem bicycle. wut Its tyres were obese, but not fully fat.
