If Specialized made the 'flow' stem available to buy in different lengths, I'd be more than happy .... just don't understand why they don't. Must be a 'we know best' attitude.

Can't really compare. The '13/14 carbon Sirrus bikes were/are simply Roubaix road frames converted to flat bars. Nothing wrong with that, but that is what they are. '15 and now '16 use an entirely new frame, specifically designed for flat bars (geometry etc.). So apples and oranges.
That headset/stem thingy on the carbon Sirrus that is plaguing outpost2015 is to my mind a silly concession to 'looking racy' for no apparent reason. Someone in 'marketing' must have thought it was a good idea. Other changes/alternatives are, to my mind, good ideas -- e.g. making 1x11 drivetrains an option.

Definitely better stem, but now I'm sold on the 1 x 11 concept (I also have a 2015 Epic Expert WC with X01), I would have liked it if they offerered the Carbon Pro with and without X1, rather than the Expert.

You have probable already thought of this. But I wonder if the frame will still fit a standard headset? But then again, I guess the steerer would still be an issue. Maybe a steerer extender? I have not had my hands on one, so "what do I know?". I just know I would be seriously hostile if I couldn't adjust the fit of the bike like you have not been able to do.

If I could find a headset that has the right conical spacer, then fitting is not a problem. I was able to fit a standard 75mm stem above the bottom spacer shown in my picture, with normal spacers above. It worked, and felt fine, just looked wrong ! It probably makes me more angry to think there are dozens of these 90mm 'flow' stems sitting in a parts bin at Specialized, that would solve my problem.

I have a spare CG-R seatpost for sale, brand new, if you're interested. The seatpost is universally beloved; Monstermash on this forum loves his as well.

Hi Christian,
Nice bike you bought. Would you be able to send me some more pictures of your bike? Detail picture of the fenders from top view.
These are the first real life pictures of the bike on the internet. I'm very interested in the bike. Are those fenders originals from Specialized?
Thanks.
Bjorn

This is My first bike in 25 years, so I don' t believe I am a good point of reference in this case. However, I rented a Sirrus Sport a few weeks ago, and the ride on the Carbon Pro is considerably more smooth.

Hi Christian,
Thanks a lot. Could you place some more detailed pictures? Steer with shifter, cassette/deraillieur?
Whats the width of the tires? Are they thicker than a road bike?
Have you seen the Expert Carbon X1?
Thank you.

The tyres are the standard on this bike (i.e. Roubaix 700 x 23/25).
I have not seen the Expert Carbon X1.

Hi,
May thanks for the pictures. It looks very nice. I see you have an M size frame. How tall are you?
Tiny detail. A pity that the handles aren't totally black. But perhaps Specialized got them aftermarket in black.
Regards,
Bjorn
