Copper bar end plugs?
Anyone know of a source for copper (or copper plated) bar end plugs for drop bars? Ideally something that looks vaguely retroesque, but at the very least something aesthetically neutral and not overly branded with modern looking logos.

I think rootboy has been lathe-turning some very nice brass numbers...maybe he can try some in copper (or bronze).

Take a old pair of bar plugs , drill a penny ,countersink use brass screw .Old brass buttons

Not sure if this would fit the bill, but Cinelli makes alloy-covered bar end plugs in a range of colors, including an orange that looks rather coppery.

You have probably considered this already, but I'd be wary of using copper in an alu handlebar because the alu might corrode quite quickly because of dissimilar metals.
Of course, if you check frequently and/or give the whole thing a new wrapping regularly, I wouldn't worry too much. Anyway, just a thought.

Your point is what, exactly? That there is no problem dissimilar metals going on with attaching copper to alu because brass is an alloy?
Stainless steel is an alloy too, hell most titanium stuff you buy is also an alloy.

Btw, your brass plugs look very nice, and since they are separated from the bar itself by O-rings, I don't see any problems arising with that set up.

+1 on the possible dissimilar metals issue, especially if you ride a lot in the wet........ Although if you are careful enough, you can possibly avoid all contact between the two different metals if you carefully wrap the bar end stub completely with it, before inserting them into the aluminum handlebar ends. No contact = no electrolytic corrosion...

No, my post had nothing to do with the dissimilar metals issue. It was only to illustrate that solid brass ones …which is mostly copper...are available, if so desired. And while I don't have any copper bar stock on hand, I do in brass.

You could also make some bar-end plugs from spent shotgun casings.
