Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Just one and I had a guy run over to watch, had no idea how to fix one. To bad I just replaced the tube and made sure nothing was sticking through the tire. I think he learned about quick release levers, his bike does not have them.

About 6, which is very few in my book. With the drought we have fewer goats heads than normal. 2 were on a bike I was not riding, can't figure that one out, something to do with the tire casing reacting with the tube. The rest were slivers of glass.

Can't recall if it's 4 or 5. But either way, the most in recent years.

You ride enough, you get flats. Changing tubes is second nature by now.

Too Many.... about 10 or so. That is why I switched to Tubeless (Schwalbe One) tires on the road bike (no flats so far). In fact I might talk to the bike shop and see if tubeless is a viable option for the mountain bike (I only ride it a few times a year as I prefer the road bike).

8 or 9 with two of those being front flats.
did have 3 in one two week stretch with
the culprit being a wire thread that had come
loose on the inside of a tire (2 separate tires)
and punctured the tubes w/a slow leak.

oh...and 3 of the flats were from goatheads.

I know I had at least 10 but probably closer to 15. Most were pinch flats due to gravel as I branched oout and tried riding further afield on my 700c road bike. I had 5 once I switched to 650b, all were punctures from nails or glass.

Notable flats were when I pinched flatted both tubes going over a set of railroad tracks. Another was when I got two pinch flat punctures on the same tube at the same tine!

It seems really tragic getting a flat on a trainer. At least it didn't make one arrive late somewhere.

I had 4, the bike came with a flat, 2 riding and 1 sitting in the shop. Found a piece of steel wire, from what I assume was a steel belted car tire, stuck through the tire. I removed it but still had a flat the next day from just sitting in the shop over night. I replaced the tires and tubes and haven't had any problems since but from that I learned to carry patches, an extra tube and pump when I had to call for a pick up one Saturday.

None caused by a tire failure. I did however have three flats during one ride due to a poorly designed tubeless ready Assault wheelset I owned for about two weeks.

First the rim tape was not sealing due to imperfections on the inner wheel surface causing air to escape under the tape, through the spoke holes and finally out of the valve stem base (where the nut is) resulting in a flat. I unknowingly over tightened the valve stem nut and when I attempted to inflate the tire, the stem came shooting out of the rim like a bullet. Then I said screw it and threw a tube in there to get going because I was 20mi away from home and must have installed it incorrectly because it popped while inflating. I know I keep harping on the poor design by Reynolds on their so called tubeless wheels but this fiasco is still fresh in my head.

I had so many flats compared to 2014. At least 15 flats with gp4000s tyres and i didn't patch any of them. I should take a photo all of them together

3 on the touring/commuter/errand bike. Two on the first day of a 3-day tour. One during a short hop to the liquor store. "It's only a couple of miles round trip. I don't need to bring a spare and a pump." Flatted a block from the store. It was 90 out. No way I was walking home in the heat and humidity. Went to a LBS a few blocks away and paid them to fix it. Turns out the rim tape was worn. So it all worked out in the end.

I got way too many. 25 or so. Probably the worst flat per mile year I've ever endured.

Luckily no flats on my big tour.

Never flatted in a CX race. Taco'd a front wheel on a barrier once, but tire was still holding air. Luckily that was about 15 yards from finish line, so I ran it in to avoid a DNF.

About 10 or so. I usually go about 2 months without a flat, and the the rear tire gets very thin, an flats become common until the tire is replaced. 8 tires this year IIRC, and 1 was cut by glass with only about 1000 miles of use.

Tubeless tires are just too expensive for me(even at dealer cost).
