I really like those Old Fashions. Every bartender I've met in Wisconsin knows how to make them. Can't say that about a Margarita....

Tonight, Guinness Blonde Lager.

These days I’m pretty much just coffee, tea, and water. Maybe an occasional wine or brandy or scotch/scots. Used to do some gins.

Real Whiskey, from the only country that makes it proper, and from one of the only distilleries that makes it even more proper: with peat for the barley:

Just tried out Founders Breakfast Stout today in a restaurant. Surprised to say, it is very good as far as Stouts go!
Added to my list of favorites that includes Westmalle dubbel. Surprised that a Stout from Michigan would make it to my short list of Stouts to go to.

Nice!

Connemara is very good IMHO. Its not for everyone though, as it has a very "earthy" taste. I haven't had it in awhile, thanks for reminding me!

During a recent trip to the UK I was presented with a rare bottle of 13-year old, single malt scotch.

How rare? It is one of three bottles from a privately commissioned barrel to be auctioned. This one brought 1070 pounds, about $1300.

I'm going to drink it straight, no water, no ice, and share it with the guys I play music with.

Except in WI, you usually see people ordering "brandy old fashioned, sweet". my Chicago born In Laws, think that the only thing you can serve a Wisconsinite is brandy. When i grew up in Green Bay, that was likely true. I once read (somewhere) that Green Bay, WI was the WORLD leader in per capita brandy consumption.

A very smooth 25th Anniversary Imperial Stout by Left Hand Brewing Company in Longmont, CO. I ride my bike to the farmers market most sundays and seem to always end up in the pub, (The Beer Junction) I can get three 4 oz tastes for about the cost of a pint and I get more variety. Hmmm beer. Of course I wouldn't say no to a nice Scotch and a cigar...

a wee stout

The first beer of my 3 night trip to Prague this week, while waiting with my suitcase for the rest of my party to arrive. A Pilsner Urquell, which I really enjoy a lot these days. The night before I had a few Czech beers here in Sweden, but even in the center of the city there, I could have roughly 5 for the price of 1 here in Sweden.

hehe-
For some time, the top selling bar of Jagermeister was Siebkens in Elkhart Lake. I rather think its best drank to keep from catching the cold (pun//)

Other
Suntory whisky, anyone? Recently learned our local grocer (chain) now stocks and reasonably priced.

Adult beverage wise, I tend to go for fruity drinks that make it easy to have too many without realizing it.

I keep discovering better and better tasting stouts as the years go by.
this has to be one of the best!
Founders Breakfast Stout, from Michigan.
I've seen this beer before, but ignored it because of it's less than convincing label. Had the chance to finally try it in a restaurant last week and holy cow! It is really good! Very very smooth and very tasty. Fantastic with food. Has a strong coffee taste that I can only describe as high quality and not just there to give the stout a coffee taste.

Elysian's Snailbones IPA, which is new this year, is excellent. Who knew the 7-11 a quarter mile away from me would carry it? One of my top five or better IPAs.

The Bifrost winter ale is also quite nice.

It’s Big, it’s Bad, Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Stout, with Coffee and Cocoa Nibs. One Big Bad Imperial Stout with Cocoa nibs and Coffee beans. Each season’s release uses a different dark roasted coffee. ABV may vary between batches: 10.2% to 12.7% My last date with BBB was a growler fill
