Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Got out for my first ride in ten days. Still not completely recovered from the bug that my kids passed on to me last week - you know you're going to have to dial it back when pumping up the tires pre-ride feels like work. I took it slow, though, frequently jettisoning snot rockets and phlegm bombs, and kept my weekly metric streak alive.

Cracked pulley and the cage don't look right. Nice, clean, drivetrain, though.

Went out for about 50 gorgeous mi today and should have put something more than dihydrogen oxide in the bottle.

Winner! Yep poor ol' bottom pulley.

Drivetrain is even cleaner now, I was part way through cassette scrubbing when I spotted that crack, had to run inside to grab the phone for photographic evidence.

Oh, is that a crack? It's so straight and clean that I assumed it was made that way.

I blame the weather in PHX.

I really don't know how I've made it this far without ceramicspeed.

Yup. And tail light. It was in for a new drive-side crank (stiped out pedal threads). The Hello Kitty scooter was in for a flat tire.

Our neighbor asked if I would look at a bike for her, since I race bikes, and must know everything about bikes... She said it wouldn't roll, so I went and grabbed it. I can't believe people ride those pigs, and even more importantly, I'm happy I'm not a hernia candidate.

The real clue was the unevenest in the outer edge of the tips -- really rounded-off around the crack, especially compared with the upper one which is nice and square on every one as a good part is.
