WHAT TIRE IS THIS? or, what's the FATTEST 700c tires that fit in dual-pivot brakes?
Does anyone know what the maximum width is for a 700c gravel tire that will still fit inside a dual-pivot road brake?
I've heard anywhere from 28mm - 32mm, depending on how wide your rims are.
However, here's a photo of a hybrid rockin' some kind of FAT gravel tire - It appears to be a 35mm to 40mm semi-knobby tire, inside a road dual-pivot brake, with TONS of room to spare.
Is this true, or do my eyes deceive me? According to Google, this Giant Rapid hybrid came equipped originally with 700x25c road slicks, but these look like they've been changed to something way wider and knobbier. How fat do you think these tires are?

There are short, medium, and long reach brakes to suit frames with more tire clearance. A bike intended for fenders might have mediums. Some of the C&V guys use a change of brake size for 650b conversions and dimple the chain stays if needed for the tires.

Those tires are probably 35mm or smaller. I think long reach double pivot will take 40mm. Doesn't look like the bike in the OP has the longest reach double pivot brakes though. The main thing is what will clear the frame.
