How much are new components on an Ironman worth?
New to building here - only ever bought off the rack or off mate's before... I'm in the market for a steel light tourer to do initial commuting duty and then help me get into some rando events. I have no concept of value for components admittedly. My first reaction is this is over-priced, inherently b/c NOVA. But realistically if I could get the same frame for $150 elsewhere, what is this setup's value?

"The 9 speed Tiagra shifters that are NOS that I bought a few year back but never used them. The shifters are new never used, these never even got removed from the packaging until this build. The front and rear derailleur are used 105 with plenty of life left in them. The Crankset is the original 105 with like new Shimano Bio-pace chain rings (52/42). The rear is a Shimano 11-23 9 speed cassette. The rear derailleur is a road long cage so you could go 11-34 with a new cassette(I have been running my other bike with a custom 12-30). The wheels are Alex 298 .This is a light weight steel road bike, you have to feel it to believe it. I have an identical tange 1 ironman that I use on group rides and I always get comments on how light the bike is. The bike is ready to ride and is very light. You would have to spend $1500-$3000 for a new steel frameset to get close the quality of this is a Tange 1 steel frameset, it is fast and rides like a dream without the harsh feel of aluminum."
It's out of my price range right now regardless, but if I'm going to end up spending $450 or $500 myself to get a comparable build maybe I can negotiate.

Not especially desirable but I posted this one in response to a thread about "cottered alloy cranksets," one of which this bike has. Feast your eyes on an oddball component if you have never seen one. The bike itself is a nice example of a basic bike boom 10 speed.
