Puppy Doge's fav RR course of any so far. 6th place, 120 starters. Club - the fastest group - :-). https://www.usacycling.org/results/?...info_id=106901
It was cold and windy and the wind helps separate things a bit - as well as two separate 8% short climbs.
They let a break of 3 CU riders get 2 min on them. At about 10K to go Puppy and the ITT winner and two others started the chase - too late. They brought the last two to 10 sec @ finish.
Puppy rolls in for 6th. We're all pretty happy with that. It is hard to know when there is a rabbit or legit attack. CU had Boulder/Denver campus teams.

This was from the TTT with a little scenery. Mostly the USAFA and wee bits of the others.
USAC posted the picture of the Varsity winners. As noted in the video the fastest racing club this year.
I hope USAC works this club/varsity thing out for next year.

And the Crit. This is long. Nothing too eventful. Puppy missed the break and didn't bridge when he should have and was not so interested in sprinting for 10th. Puppy was riding for teammate who has a tremendous sprint and beat the winner 3 weeks ago. Teammate crashed with 2 to go. One hour before race teammate asks me if I think his cleats would hold in a sprint. I said no. Off to the bike shop and cleat replacement 25 min before the start was a team effort :-/ The venue is great. I did most my filming from the brewery.
Long entry social before the races started. They called up all 102 riders - some nice schools there.
CU is a power house cycling school winning the TTT (Boulder Campus) , RR (the Denver campus), and Crit (Boulder again).

Clip of a crash from a B pack race last night.
Mostly Cat 4/5, I think. 1st guy that goes down says someone hit his wheel, second guy hit the 1st guys bike as the 1st guy rolled out of the way, 2nd guy goes down but doesn't look too bad. Guy in the black and yellow starts the video on my right but moves to my left, as he goes out of camera view, hits 1st guy and goes down very hard. He was out and bleeding profusely from the head. Ambulance came and got him, I have not heard yet this morning how he's doing.
My eyes and the video are not very good, can anyone else see if there is contact that would cause the 1st guy to crash, or did he just go down by himself?

At 7 seconds the bigger dude in the dark top w/red sleeves absolutely deviates his line from left to right and cuts the first-crasher-guy's wheel.
super bull**** and needless crash.
here - you can barely see his wheel between the riders
and then he veers right, takes the dude out but feels contact and moves back to the left

Great eyes, and thanks for the illustrations, I completely missed the guy on the left touching wheels with first crash dude.
Appreciate it!
Update on the big guy in black and yellow, third crasher, 2 fractures in his neck.

I think it was more like they were fighting for position, and #99 (crashed out guy) hit the other guy's pedal, causing him to crash. Other guy came unclipped so that's why I think that.
Some gnarly **** either way.

I can see DPGP from my house (if the other houses were not in the way).
Junior and I have been to everyone (starting his age 8) except the last two. DPGP seems to me to have more crashes than most.

Yeah really. I get sweaty palms just watching it..
I've always wanted to do one of those big-money NCC (or whatever) pro/1 crits, just to say I did it and survived.. it's the surviving part that scares me! A weekend warrior going up against those guys is probably not a good idea.
I mean I have good insurance, but crashing just isn't that fun.
