Riding near Lake Wylie, York, Clover, Rock Hill SC?

Hi All,

It's been a minute since I've been back in the forums. Recently moved from SoCal to Lake Wylie, SC. When the weather was slightly better and not rainy, I saw a handful of cyclists out and about. I was wondering if any of you ride around here (solo rides, group rides, etc)? And where you might right?

I need to get back into riding shape, but hope to be good to go by April.

Jeff

You might search or check with the Gaston County Cyclists club. I’ve haven’t ridden with them in a while but they had routes and groups that rode out that way. You might even see some of their arrows on the roads.

There was also a group in and around Rock Hill. They used to have a metric in the spring that started south of Rock Hill. I know they are still doing a time trial series.

Rock hill has a couple of great cycling groups. Plus you have the river walk development which is geared towards cyclists and has the criterium course you can ride.

There's are trails in the White Water Center, and I hear there are trails in the Lake Norman park. If you're asking about paved road riding, drive 30 miles south or west to remote rural areas, park at a church and start riding.

I used to live in Fort Mill and rode quite a lot around Rock Hill, Clover, Chester, Kings Mountain areas.

Try the Rock Hill Bike Club website.

They used to ride Saturday mornings and Monday evenings from the Wells Fargo parking lot in downtown Rock Hill. York County has several marked bicycle routes also.
