Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Custom built in 2003, the moto was never finished, too many projects.

Trying to focus on cycling, healthier.

My Cipollini RB1K Road Bike

This is my custom-built Cipollini RB1K Road Bike that I use for criterium racing and stage races. I love my new bike and it feels so much faster and more stable than my previous Giant TCR Advanced. I had Vantage Cycles custom build it for me and the complete bike only weighs 13.8lbs. They also currently have this Cipollini RB1K frame on sale for 25% off so I took advantage of the discount.

Here are the Specs:

Frame: Cipollini RB1K
Wheels: Lightweight FERNWEG VR 60
Cranks: Rotor 3D w/ Q-Rings
Chain: KMC Gold
Saddle: Selle Italia SLR C59
Brakes: EE Cycleworks
Shifters: Campagnolo Super Record EPS
Derailleurs: Campagnolo Super Record EPS
Stem: Fizik Cyrano R1
Handlebar: Fizik Cyrano 00 Chameleon

Total Weight: 13.8lbs (without pedals)

I have a GT Grade 105 Alloy that I got at the end of April 2016 and put almost 3000 miles on it so far.

Sold my second car and bought this:

Propel gets far more usage than second car sitting in the driveway.

I took this one yesterday. Propped up for the first time and not standing against an object.

The crazy thing is that on yesterday evening's ride, someone offered me a set of those very same Cosmics for a fantastic price! We could be twinsies!

Seriously, though, can you possibly offer any insight on the wheels? How do you like them? Do they fir between the chainstays pretty well for you? I'm sure you have also had to deal with the fact that one can only fit a 23 on the rear on this frame (or am I crazy?)

I ended up getting the Carbone SLE. Super happy with them as they are day/night difference between the Ksyrium that came with the bike. Once I am geared up with everything I weigh in roughly at 210-215 pounds and those wheels have taken some serious bad road beating. They still roll perfect, do not wobble and wheel bearings only needed a 2 second adjustment with a special tool after some ride. I only have about 2000 Miles on them so time will tell how they perform in the long run.

I am going backwards. Veering away from my carbon Giant & Colnago, and have been riding a steel cyclo-cross Masi .
Soon I will be riding a new steel Bianchi.
I'm also going from riding full out all the time, to much more laid back riding. Easy spin!

It has been a long time since reading these forums, but happy to be back and post my new bike.

1995 (I think, NOS) Basso Italian steel with full Dura Ace 8 Speed.

I always wanted a bike like this and finally made the purchase.

It fits and rides like a dream.

I look forward to many miles on it

First post here on BF.

Name's Michael, i'm a 23 year old marketer from Montréal. Got into cycling about 4 months ago, purchased a friend's Guru Carbonio bike and fell in love with cycling, and perhaps building bikes even more, very quickly. Sold the guru and bought a gorgeous Bianchi 928 B4P frameset in Toronto and built it one part a time since.

As of today:
Dura-Ace 7900 Groupset
Dura-Ace C35 Tubular wheelset
53-39T X 11-28T gearing
Vittoria Corsa EVO CX tires
Bianchi 110mm carbon Stem
Bianchi Reparto carbon seatpost
Ritchey Superlogic Logic II Handlebar
Lizard skins DSP 2.5mm bartape
Fizik Aliante R5 Bianchi Saddle (not pictured)
Shimano SPD-SL pedals
Sigma ROX 6.0 cycling computer
